I napped much too long, and I am awake to read of another act of senseless violence.

March 18, 2017

The 39-year-old assailant, identified by authorities as Ziyed Ben Belgacem, was known to France’s intelligence services as a possible Islamist extremist.

Hours before the airport attack, he wounded a police officer with a 9-millimeter lead-shot pistol during a traffic stop and later opened fire in a bar without hitting anyone, Francois Molins, the Paris prosecutor, said at an evening news conference.

As the woman, a reservist, fought back, Belgacem dragged her to the ground and tried to wrestle her assault rifle from her. The weapon passed back and forth between them. As he finally wrested the gun from the soldier, she dropped down, allowing her colleagues to shoot him dead.

Police evacuated the airport to search for explosives, and air traffic was paralyzed for several hours.

The incident disrupted the travel plans of 5,000 to 6,000 passengers. What purpose did this senseless act of violence serve ?

It seems as if the other avenues of attack are too difficult, and airports are the favored staging area.

There have been three incidents of trespass onto the White House grounds. Don't they know that Trump is either in New York or Florida?

That would be sensible. These are senseless acts, duh.

It would be easier to get Tom Brady's sperm in the middle of the night, than to sneak into the White House and get to Trump....

50lbs of explosives in a backpack could do a number on the building proper though. If 8 suicide bombers came in from different directions I bet half or more would make it to the building. Maybe even in daylight.

Multiple people were injured after an out of control driver reportedly drove onto the sidewalk in Times Square today. The FDNY has confirmed that at least 13 people were injured in the incident, which happened around noon Thursday.

According to witnesses, the driver of a maroon Honda drove onto the sidewalk on 7th Avenue between 42nd and 43rd Street. Cops at the scene reportedly said that the car "lost control," and the driver is now in custody.

Witness-

'Oh my god.' We didn't know there was a car right there, we just heard a boom. I just thought it was a normal car engine," he said. "This is our first time coming here so we didn't know how it is, we just thought the regular boom was just normal."

He added that other witnesses told him they saw a car "swerving, and it caught on [fire] and hit a pedestrian."

No evidence yet that I've seen that this is a political act. Cars go out of control for reasons other than politics/terrorism.

No idea, if it is political, or not.

Someone died, during this instance of senseless violence.

26-year-old Bronx man was taken into custody following the horrific wreck.

The unidentified driver has two prior arrests for driving while intoxicated, sources said.

Times Square, 19 people injured.

The FDNY are checking, just as a matter of policy and caution.

"...another man was taken into custody after he tried to bike into the crime scene. "He was running, he was trying to go through this way but the cops weren't letting him, obviously, so he started resisting, he starting pushing the cops away and started hitting them," he told us.

This is a political issue board. Such stories as this are just screamy flak on a political issue board. I have enough trouble trying to follow your scattered posts without them being irrelevant.

Everything concerns politics, one way, or another.

Who the driver of the car is, has become a political football among the major news outlets, today. Actions taken by the NYFD were questioned.

As I posted, you water down your posting persona by playing Chicken Little and trying to relate everything to politics. Doesn't matter much with your posts, though, I guess, since they are so confusing scattergunned anyway.

Richard Rojas, 26, was driving a maroon 2009 Honda Accord when he mounted the sidewalk on the west side of 42nd Street and drove up 7th Avenue "at a high rate of speed" while striking pedestrians, before crashing into a light pole on the northwest corner of 45th Street. Witness Asa Lowe, 42, thought the driver was going "past 100 MPH." When he got out of the car, Lowe says Rojas started running until "people tackled him."

Richard Rojas, 26 yrs old, Navy vet. (Marine) Sources said Rojas told cops something along the lines of, “This was the last day on earth.”

Rojas also claimed to hear voices and suggested that he believed cops were going to kill him.

This wasn’t like a normal interview,” a source said. “He’s rambling.”

Not long ago, this month, there was an artificial marijuana bust. There have been arrests around Boston that relate to the odd and bizarre behaviours that coincide with ingesting something similar. The cold weather and difficult winter travel conditions have cleared. Incidents are increasing exponentially. I was dreading that the "bath salts" were back on the streets. Towns are still fighting the legalization of marijuana. Some are raising the legal age of smoking (tobacco.)

This is a very sad story and the last thing Rojas needs is anyone judging him. Maybe it would be more helpful to him if society was less like a giant dick towards him.

It is a sad story, but what is needed now is somebody to judge him, convict him and send him to prison for a ling time. :(
