Semper Fi. Do Or Die - Let me hear your War cry!!!!

I thought it was

"Sparky Kronkite don't be shy!! Let me hear your battle cry!!"

and then you'd say

"V-I-C-T-O-R-Y!!!!"

then i'd say

"That was Sparky's battle cry!"

LOL

The Army: "Hoo-ah!"
The Navy: "Oo-rah!"
The Marines: "Sempre fi!"
The Air Force: *polite applause*

Believe you me, I lived it, baby.

I believe it, in the Army, was “huuah”. We non-airborne guys always said that stood of “head up ass”. Lol I put 25 years in and retired so please don’t flame me. I have nothing but the utmost respect for those “hard chargers”.

It's rumored that during WWII a group of hard chargers had just taken several clicks of turf from entrenched Germans. Their numbers had been winnowed down until only a few exhausted men were left.

At the top of a hill stood a machine gun nest manned by Germans.

"Sergeant, take that hill," ordered the Lieutenant.

"Who us?"

"What did you say, sergeant?"

"Hoo-ah, sir, hoo-ah."

At PI/3rd Batt/3011 in early '75 - the platoon accross from us.......

had this battle hardened Senior. At lights-out he had them do this Uurah that was fucking incredible!

It's dark right? And the sound echoes off the red brick building and out onto the parade field where it flows and rolls out into the swamps of North Carolina. And the Senior has them do this ultra loud, long drawn out...........

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrahh!

In unison of course. 3 times. In between all of them slap their still made, Marine-tight bunks.

It was fucking awesom!

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrahh! WOMP!

UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurrahh! WOMP! WOMP!

And then a third and last time.

Of course not really a battle thing - a training thing. But I always thought - man! - if the enemy ever, ever heard that shit - they'd fucking run for the hills. It was that damn spooky.
