and the brown wont come off! what can i do to remove it? is there any secret mixture that can take it off?

Nope .... unless there is something out there I don't know about . Because I use it too. You should have put in an inconspicuous place , a butt cheek or thigh maybe ;)

well when i was watching 'the wedding planner' some bride used self tanner and it fucked her up so j-lo told her to use something...like lemon with something else....and scrub it off. do you think thats true? does anyone remember what it was?

My best guess would be to exfoliate and it might come off faster. J-lo probably said to use a lemon and sea salts or lemon and borax (i've never seen the movie). I've heard of people using this method to exfoliate elbows and knees, but i'm not sure if you want to scrub too hard on you hand!

Been There Done That

As the whitest woman on the planet (unless I'm lobster red with a sunburn) I've tried just about every self tanner on the market. Personally I've given up, my philosophy is that my skin was meant to resemble Casper The Friendly Ghost and if someone has a problem with my skin color, its their problem not mine.

Anyway exfoliating helps, it won't take care of it all but if you exfoliate as much as you can stand a couple of times it will go away much faster. The remedy J-lo gave was mostly exfoliating, don't bother with the lemon juice doesn't do a thing.

Wow... having not used a tanner in eons, I'm amazed at just how far they've come. A "semi-permanent" tanner now?? How do those work? The last ones I used (and sparingly at that) were water based.

I guess it shows you how long ago I used them!

Would a quick jaunt to the nearest reputable make-up counter at a large dpeartment store help? Maybe they've got something that'll help.

Good luck.

Yeah, i think you're supposed to cut the lemon in half and rub the sea salt on with the lemon....seems more like a fancy spa thing than something that actually has an effect. I prefer those sugar scrubs (like from B&B Works or Origins) b/c they dissolve after a while so that you don't scrub too much and are mixed with oils that make your skin soft. Can you tell i used to work in the cosmetics industry??

Love Sugar scrubs, best thing in the world for soft silky skin. I won't touch a salt scrub after using sugar. I mean they work but I would strongly reccomend NOT EVER using one after shaving, Ouch.

BTW Sea or Rock salt, Ice and Lemon juice is an old trick for cleaning coffee pots, I wouldn't be inpressed at all if a spa tried it on me.

hydrogen peroxide should take it off, or at least make it fade significantly. just attack the spot with a cotton ball, like you would to remove fingernail polish

well i used a loufa with some neutrogena clean and clear and a lot of it came right off. i didnt try the lemon and sea salt thing because i was wrong, i have no sea salt. how unfortunate. it now looks like i have a skin discoloration.

As long as you don't go have numerous nose jobs, linger around pre-teen kids and accuse your bosses of being racist, I don't think you'll become Michael Jackson.

Great minds think alike? Or are we just both THAT warped?? :D

I'm inclined to believe the latter.

I think it's something as stupid as baby oil. I've always used rubber gloves when I put on tanners, til I get to the very end (I do my arms last) and the use two fingers to do the tops of my hands, then rinse it off my fingers right away. Make sure you keep it out of any natural creases (like elbows) you'll just end up with white stripes. Good luck. :)
