Does anyone know of a set of bondage gear or clips or whatever that will allow the bottom to release her/himself in an emergency but still restrain?

This is to address the concern that the top might trip and get hurt, have a heart attack or whatever and the bottom be unable to do anything to help.

My hope would be to have a release rope that the bottom could pull to disengage the restraining hooks.

Any thoughts?

Augh, I have seen these somewhere but for the life of me I don't remember where. They do exist.

An ex of mine tried restraining herself as a surprise for her Dom once (after we broke up)
She ended up getting stuck naked in a doorway, half hanging for 3 hours, with the windows open & the temp dropping
her Dom was late getting home from work
He had to cut her down, put her in a warm tub, and almost had to take her to the hospital for loss of circulation in her hands

Anyone have any safety ideas for if your Top drops dead & you're in bondage???

actually, most kids' handcuffs that i find have this little lever that's a safety release. they still work like regular handcuffs, but if you need to, you can push the little lever and they'll come undone. you can get them at most party stores, especially this time of year.

For cuffs we use a set of wide nylon type ones which fasted with velcro (which is strong enough that no matter how hard you pull from a bound position they won't undo), and interlocking clips to join them which if need be you can move around enough to be able to reach the press clip to release them. Also, if Master is tying me while we are alone in the house, he uses a series of slip knots at uintervals in his design which only require me pulling a piece of the rope to unfasten. Is a safety first feature he feels strongly about. We also have some handcuffs which have a self release feature. They are heavy metal and not the children's variety BB spoke of....think it is a requirement in Australia that they be made with the self release feature for the general public. They come with keys which also work.

Ok, are we talking about panic snaps here?

Panic Snaps
Sold primarily by BDSM distributors and also sold in tack and equestrian shops, these snaps are especially useful in overhead bondage, but can be used in any bondage situation where the submissive is attached to an object. The snaps, when the 'body' area is pulled in a downward motion, open the upper clasp and allow the submissive instant release from the surface they are tied to. Panic snaps are especially good during medical emergencies, as well as other times when a submissive needs to be freed quickly - the snaps will open reliably, even under the tension and weight of an unconscious submissive.

My question is, can the sub release themselves by simply jerking down on the snaps?

We have a few of the panic snaps as shown here. Just pull where the arrow is stamped and it releases. If the solid loop is attached to the cuff on the sub they just have to grab it an pull for their freedom. If you use ropes or suspension cuffs just make sure the sub can reach that part of the link.

I have done self-bondage a couple of times which involves simply clasping my hands behind me using leather wrist cuffs. The two cuffs are fastened with a buckle that with just a little bit of work I can do and undo by myself. The important thing is don't tighten them so much that you can't work your way out of them.

Thank you. This looks like a really good solution. A google search for "Panic Snaps" reveals a lot of vendors for the item.

Thanks.
