So I'm sitting on a sci-fi space opera manuscript, and I can't decide what I want to do with it. I think it's pretty good... but so far my readership is entirely from Literotica and my self-pub of "Good Intentions," and my sci-fi book isn't erotic at all.

I'm probably gonna submit it to the Harper Voyager open submissions call next month, but there are no guarantees there and since HV is going exclusively for e-pub it may well not be that awesome a deal after all. I might be better off self-publishing it, since my current self-pub is still doing fairly well as such things go. But again... no nookie in this one. There's like one scene of pillow talk after the fact.

So, for those of you who have stuff up on Amazon & such... do you have any non-erotic stuff up? How has that worked out for you? I believe in my book, but at the same time, I feel like if I publish it under the same pen name as "Good Intentions," I'll get readers asking, "WTF where's the girl-on-girl action???"

I would change the pen name. Its best to keep erotica separate from "mainstream"

a few weeks ago I went back to my roots and penned three horror stories and put them on amazon(under a different name than my erotica) in the 6 weeks they have all been up I have a combined 35 sales so not much is happening.

I'm selling about 30-35 a day with my erotica(that's with about 15 titles) but that doesn't mean it would be your case, maybe my horror sucks.

Oh, is it about vampires?

Good one!

But no. I refuse to delve into the most beaten like a dead horse topic there is right now.

Besides if I did mine would be evil and nasty not wussy like Twilight.

Two are ghost stories one is about possession.

I noticed that the possession story sells better than the other two and it has a pretty hardcore sex scene in it.

Guess I'll stick to sex.

I feel like there should be a small emblem you can put on the cover of any urban fantasy book that certifies, "No vampires get laid over the course of this book." It would certainly apply to mine. :)

I agree, but add this to it. "Nor do they cry, nor do they fall in love, nor do they whine. They kill baby, they just kill."
