My story,“Connections,” (still up here at Lit) has been named runner-up for the 2006 Rauxa Prize, given annually for an erotic short story of “exceptional literary quality”— out of over 1,000 story nominations!

They told me in October that I was in the top ten, which just sent me into orbit... and I've been waiting on pins and needles since...

They announced the winners today... and I'm first runner up! Yay me! I'm pretty proud of this one... The awards are judged by a select jury, and chosen from work nominated by editors and writers. All entries are read "blinded" (without author's name available).

:nana:

Just thought I'd brag a little.... :cathappy:

Congratulations!
Sweet news gorgeous...but forgive me if I'm not surprised. You deserve the recognition you've been getting.

Congrats

You'll been on your way to a Pulitzer soon enough

Great news, but it's no surprise for those of us who've read your stories. Still, it is most definitely one helluva rush.

:nana: WAY TO GO, SELENA! :nana:

Rumple Foreskin

Good on you, KittyKat.

You are an excellent writer.

It's no wonder you have such a following on Lit.

Cream rises to the top and all that.

(cat--cream--get it? Oh well.)

Peace.

Outstanding news! Congratulations SK. Keep up the great work.

Thanks, everybody... :cathappy:

I wish I could announce it to my family, but I think my fundamentally Baptist sister would be more appalled than thrilled...

Glad I can share it here

Wow!

That's great news, Selena. I notice Mike Kimera won last year, and he's rather well known. So clearly the competition is heated and winners such as yourself are of obviously high quality.

Thank you sweetie...

I feel totally out of my element... I didn't even know if being "published" on Lit would even count!
