Seems like the arming teachers insanity has hit a snag.

They mention the Noble county thing. I'm right next door to Noble County. Almost literally. The line is maybe a half mile from my house.
Anywho, it wasn't a huge deal when they tried to arm teachers but it made the news and I don't think anyone was surprised when it didn't happen. I don't remember insurance being the reason though. I coulda sworn it was something else.

I wondered about this when the topic first came up last year. Seems to me that no insurance carrier is gonna let untrained people be armed around kids without one hell of a premium.

How soon before the RWCJ start screaming for government mandated insurance?

It's always interesting to find out what a right actually costs.

We love our right to bear arms, but very few people ever bear the burden. When the potential liability is weighed against the benefit, and the cost is assessed, very few people find a gun to be a practical use of their money.

It's almost as though free market advocates are willfully ignorant of market failures and have never heard of such things as 'external economies.'

I agree, the kids aren't worth the cost. Look at it on a per capita basis, no problem exists.

But, if a person does commit a violent attack on a school (God forbid), could not the school be held liable for failure to secure their students?

While you are at it, work on these questions and get back to us.

If a teacher accidentally discharges their government issued firearm and kills a student, who is liable?

If a student gets access to the teacher's government issued firearm, and kills a student or teacher, who is liable?

If a teacher confronts a violent attacker and shoots a student or teacher with their government issued firearm, who is resposible.

If a teacher decides "fuck it all" and shoots students with their government issued firearm, who is responsible?

Would that be on a per capita basis?

The school wouldn't be liable for someone else coming in & shooting up the place so long as they took reasonable care.

The gun is responsible, in all cases.

Everybody knows that guns are what kills people.
