being it's "mother" not calling u a dog, im my dog's daddy its just a cute thing, neHOW, being the dog's sarigate mother, I'm sure it has a face that only a mother can love. Sort of, im sure if you grew the know the dog it'd be adorable but in general pits are ugly.

im not even in the same country as you but i happen to find people against interracial couples offensive! It's a step back to realise some people still hold such ideals and values.

ah heard some stuff on the radio today, pitbulls are being eliminated through a banning on breeding in NSW Australia at least thats the plan they want to enforce.

Those dogs just have problems, they just snap, its proven.

um, actually, if you look at the research - the problem is in the breeding and raising - and of the fatal dog bites in the US for the last 5 years - EVERY LAST ONE OF THEM WAS AN UN-NEUTERED MALE - and very few of them (% wise) were pitbulls. Golden Retrievers and German Shepherds are much more likely to be the dogs that attack simply because there are more of them.

Unfortunately, pitbulls have gotten a bad rap because of stupid people ... yes, they CAN BE dangerous but so can German Sheperds (as shown by the one that we had to get rid of because he tried to kill Holly) or any other breed but 90% of the problem is bad breeding (causing mental illnesses just like it would in humans) and poor training (the GS we got was a rescue from a shelter - he had been thrown out of his house at about 4 months old because his doggy-brother, a boxer, had bitten someone and the owner thought that if he threw them out, he wouldn't get in trouble for it - he spent 2-3 months living wild before we got him, and couldn't fix it in the 6 months that we had him ... when he tried to kill Holly is when we finally gave up). Statements like "Those dogs just have problems, they just snap, its proven" are not only false, they are exactly why we have in our list of requirements that we don't want to be lectured about our choice of breeds. If you have a problem with it, keep it to yourself - our dog is a fairly well bred dog (mothers lines are pure and she really does have a family tree, rather than a family stick; father is a pitbull/sharpei mix that got in the kennel with her), and she is better trained than most people. Our dog is not going to "just snap" because she hasn't been inbred to the point of multiple genetic issues, AND we play with her, we train her daily, and we LOVE her. It's as much nurture as nature, you know. Neglected and abused dogs are going to "just snap" far more often than a dog in a loving home.

Before making a blanket statement like yours, perhaps you should do a bit more research ... and for the record - breed bans suck, they are almost impossible to enforce, and they don't stop people from having dogs that are mistreated, mistrained, and/or likely to attack.

oh well I made the statement based on what the government in my state thinks yeah breed bans suck but almost every dog attack in australia has either been a pittbull or a rottwheiler.

It's curious to see a photo of owners of pittbulls can I see yours? They always look like the same type of person, whcih might account for why so many are neglected.

P.S. yes not all owners are the same and a majority arent.

Pitbulls are not owned by any specific type ... although the ones who make the news tend to be, because they are the ones who have neglected their dogs or who have trained them to be agressive.

However, no matter how strongly I feel about this topic, that is not what this thread was intended for. So I'm putting a stop to it.

LOL nah, I'm just pissy about the one from London because he said that he read the profile, which specifically states to find this thread and read it before messaging, but he had already tried to add us. Now, I'm trying to figure out if he thought that he didn't have to follow the rules, or if he thinks that adding us to his friends list is ok to do without talking to us, but either way, it pissed me off that someone from not only another country, but another continent is trying to message me based on this profile when we have been quite clear that we have no desire to mess with immigration laws.
