LanguageTool is much better than the stock grammar checker in LibreOffice (LightProof). I'm tempted to try the LibreGrammar fork of LanguageTool that thomasaquino mentioned, but it's in early alpha stage... think I'll wait for it to grow up a little. There's also a Scribens extension for LibreOffice (and Word et al). Not open source, but free.
The problem with all these grammar thingies (other than the limitations of all robots) is they're geared to business writing. ProwritingAid at least has a setting and specific tools for creative writing. The only other tool I know of that can sort of adapt to fiction is Slick Write.
