astronomer? see anything interesting lately?

Went to the Dark Site a few weeks ago (really it's just an abandoned ECE field station in the middle of nowhere, but it's a real dark sky). The Milky Way was just screaming at ya! It was beautiful. Decent number of Messier objects and a couple meteorites, but nothing out of the "ordinary" for that place.

That sounds awesome! I'm jealous now.

Astronomer, eh? Pretty nice :)

Indeed. Amateur Astronomy is my life (literally, it's my major).

It's fun to tell lore about the heavens to people. Everyone loves a storyteller, right?:)

Indeed Vay. Nice major, was a dream as a kid. Though other things came up.

I live in the outer area's of the city. Surrounded by nature for the most part. Love it and hate it...

I'd like life in the cotton belt I think.

Warmer anyway.

Sometimes I wonder how effective it'll be, but I'm one who believes that as long as I'm doing something I love, I'll make it work, ya know.

Close enough to nature for the occasional coyote and javelina?

I miss where we lived in Ga. It had the most beautiful evening skies. We would go up onto one of the mountain lookouts and just sit there for hours staring at the stars.

Well I am about 5-7 mins from salt river. Seen condors, eagels, coyote, javeline, horses, many fish... Love it.. Nature is one of my loves
