Working as a secretary for Linda McMahon was the most calming job Jyn had ever known and it was driving her crazy. After bring a cop in New Orleans for 13 years, her life had become a trifle mundane compared to the life or death moments she shared with her partner, Tucker. The only thing she had going for her right now was her family. Davis, her twin brother, a.k.a. Demon, decided to uproot his life and his career at Tulane as a trauma surgeon to help her with her twin, Stefan and Sabor. The two were 5 years old now and asking a lot of questions. Their father worked in the Mardi gras museum and Jyn had decided to back up some of the rookies that had some problems keeping the crowds back. To Jyn, he looked like Taylor Kitsch but with darker hair and brighter eyes.
They hit it off right away but she a lot of trust issues and apparently so did he. This became very obvious to her about a year and half into the relationship when they had become engaged. An old flame from her past showed up at her door. This was someone she had been in love with years ago so his presence was a shock. He got down on one knee and proposed. Jyn did her best not to hurt the man, her mother taught her better than that. She sent him packing but Ryan didn’t see things the way she thought he would. He flew into a rage and did something she never thought he would do: he hit her. There had been a planter on the table and he smashed it across one side of her head and face.
The blow had her knocked out and on the floor until her twin brother finally found her. What happened between that point and then on was still a blur for her. Davis and Tucker made sure that Ryan knew that their relationship was over. They even gave toe ring back for her. Two weeks later she saw his face again, this time on the news. He had shot himself in his parents’ basement and was dead. Despite what he did to her, Jyn was devastated. For days she sulked in her room, grieving for someone who had betrayed her. Davis had talked with her boss and they said she had a lot of vacation time saved up so she could take her time. They needed her at 100 percent.
Jyn had noticed the nausea but thought it was just her emotions driving her body crazy. When that little plus sign appeared, she knew her life would never be the same. Those two bright-eyed kids had become the light of her life and her twin had become her hero. He worked on set tending to the guys’ medical needs while helping her at night with the kids. Between the two of them they were exhausted. Jyn didn’t want anyone knowing where she was at the moment and she was sure how anyone would take having a homicide lieutenant working for them so she fudged on her background a little. As far as they knew she was just your average everyday secretary. Jyn dressed down too so that she didn’t attract attention.
An old friend name Byron Wilcott, made contact with Davis wondering if he could spin him into getting a job. If there was anyone who could get the job done, it was Demon. He earned his nickname not from her but from the nurses he used to charm in the emergency room. He was a good guy deep down though. Jyn was nervous though. One of the other wrestlers had gotten a little too interested in them and she told Davis it might end up being a problem. He scoffed, saying that maybe the guy had a crush on her. She just gaped at him like he had lost his mind. The two of them were sitting in the empty audience chairs as they set up for Monday Night RAW. Byron was going to be wrestling Fandango tonight. Jyn was working on her computer to make the arrangements for Linda’s arrival. The hotel had been booked, dinner reservations made and the hotel had sent over a gift basket and wine. “I got to go see about Byron.” Yeah right, she thought. Going goof off is what he’s going do.
She was tapping away at the laptop when she felt a hand on her shoulder and someone sat next to her. Thinking it was Davis, Jyn didn’t even look up from what she was doing. “That was fast, Demon. Is Byron’s knee gonna be alright for tonight?” She looked up and got a surprise but didn’t show it. Thirteen years on the force had schooled her well on how to hide her emotions. This guy was just way too curious.
