Secret UK Files Reveal more UFO's

I have no doubt that 90% of things sighted by people are either mis-identified or people seeing things they want to see...however, from personal experience there's 10% that you cannot explain as anything other than unidentified.

Now, we know that the US used several bases as testing grounds for experimental technologies in Europe as well as the US mainland - the F117A was being flown out of an air base in Scotland in the late 80s & early 90s - so it's possible that the Scottish sightings could be some next-generation aircraft (the mythical Aurora maybe???)...

But that doesn't cover all of them...and now I'll shut up - I still work for the Government & I'd like to get my pension at some point!!! :)

Damn... and I was hoping you'd tell us what you know about Rendlesham Forest.

Mmm, what do I know about Rendlesham Forest...

Big place in East Anglia - I went there about 18 months ago with a friend who was "looking out for me" while I was working in Norwich...ended up making out in the back of her car & I haven't done that since I was 18!!!

In an official capacity, the MoD never took any of the reports too seriously - hence the reason the documents were released un-edited in 2001. There was a Russian Cosmos rocket that broke up over East Anglia on December 25, so maybe that's what Charles Halt and his team saw...plus there's a two week delay between the "incident" and when Halt made his report, so there's a chance that details have been missed...

Special Branch made a cursory examination of the incident (it was 1980 & the IRA were active) but classed it as "unexplained" and the Suffolk constabulary had several reports from civilians at the time but didn't see anything themselves.

Now, one of the more interesting areas in this field is Todmorden in Yorkshire...

I just finished researching Rendlesham Forest and now I am off to Todmorden in Yorkshire... You people sure know your stuff.

No fair! I live in Bigfoot country, so don't get me started on that. But yes, I just about believe it all. I am working on believing that St. George did kill a dragon back in 4th century. I think it must have been a leftover dinosaur, like Lock Nessy. I wonder about the fire-breathing aspect of dragons, however, how to explain that one. Hmmm...

Seriously? You lucky sod! I went looking for Bigfoot on holiday about 5 years ago in the pacific northwest - I had to persuade the Mrs that it would be a good thing to do (plus if we found D.B Cooper's money it would pay for itself) - didn't find anything, but it did inspire me to write a short story that was actually published!

Then we had to stay in New York on the way home for a long weekend...ended up buying another suitcase for all the stuff she bought!!! :)

I am not in Oregon, but in way northen California in the forest and yes, Bigfoot Country is immense. Would have to be, right? I live next to the Shasta/Trinity Forest and the little town up there called Trinity Center because of the Trinity Alps and River, so clear and beautiful, has a huge wooden statue of BigFoot right out front. I love that. I has been a while since I was in Trinity Center. About a day's drive from here, never in winter, however.

We ended up staying in Ariel for a few days - really nice place & friends of ours had just moved there.

However, I can imagine that it's not the sort of place where you'd want to get lost in the dark alone at night! :)

I live in the borderlands of the Sasquatch, the Nuk-luk and the Chinnewaka. Seen nothing yet.

I imagine I have a better chance of seeing a wood elf or a flower fairy than a Bigfoot. I am right off a major interstate highway.

Great sign. I would love one.

Somehow, I think we have gotten off topic...

So here is a slight tangent...

Let's say alien races do exist and have already been here.
Let's say the major governments of the world know all about it.
Let's say they are afriad to tell the masses because we will panic.

But let's also say that the big guys know they have to tell the truth someday, even though they keep putting it off.

Well, I have been wondering if the end of the Mayan Calendar, so big among the new agers in my area, date is 12/21/2012, winter soltice to boot, might not just be the big day. After all, the end of the calendar denotes change, how big or small no one knows.

I know this is left field stuff, but that is where I live. Any takers or is this one just too far out there?

I'd like to see a permanent left field thread here, although I don't think it'd be too popular.

I've heard a fair amount of discussion on the end of the Mayan calendar on the radio show Coast to Coast (I think you'd like it, if you don't already listen), but I'm still not convinced that anything noteworthy or outstanding will happen on that day. I'm one of those who think that the guy carving out the calendar on the rocks just got tired and quit. :D

Yes, I am surprised how conservative it can be here. But I was born in left field, so it is home to me.

So, forget the date of discovery. If the governments of the world do finally let the cat out of the bag, do you think the masses will panic?

Kids are used to the idea, as well as most adults today, and as long as the aliens are not threatening, the human race could adjust nicely to becoming a member of a universal council of planets. That is after the initial misinformation designed to frighten the masses into rash actions. After things calm back down, I mean.

Any thoughts?

Well, considering the trouble many people have with things as minor as differences in opinion or sexuality real differences such as coming from another planet would reduce a lot of them to foaming psychosis.

In my vampire stories the vampires are very careful to remain hidden. Humans who discover that vampires exist are usually killed. Vampires who give the secret away are destroyed.

There's a reason for this. During the height of The Inquisition about 90% of the vampires in Europe were victims of it.

Some have suggested that the powers that be have been preparing us for contact for decades by influencing popular culture (movies and tv shows) so we'll become open to the idea of aliens and not fearful. If it were to happen I don't think there'd be widespread panic. We live in a world where we're worried about a terrorist attack at any given moment and we haven't panicked.... yet.

RG, so vampires are from outer space? I have always thought this was possible.

Epiphany, Is panic being controlled throught the use of prozac and zoloft and such. The big drug companies rule our lives, seemingly. Now with cancer eradication through poisonous drugs, it is really a strange trip with human guinea pigs choose to endure. Back to the off shoot about cocoon dwellers.

.

President Reagan sort of touched on this during a speech at The U.N. in 1987:
"In our obsession with antagonisms of the moment, we often forget how much unites all the members of humanity. Perhaps we need some outside, universal threat to make us recognize this common bond. I occasionally think how quickly our differences worldwide would vanish if we were facing an alien threat from outside this world..."

In my lexicon they're supernatural. I've not worked out the origin of the species but it will be from 'another reality'.

Aliens from other planets are natural.

Makes no difference as far as humans go. Faced with something totally outside their experience humans have a tendency to go apeshit.

Or so I believe.

The widespread (mis)use of Prozac and other SSRI medication is, I think, a real problem and a danger. Two of the main side-effects of these drugs is a tendency towards violence or thoughts of suicide and people are warned to not stop taking them suddenly, but to wean themselves off of them over months.. Virtually every shooter in school and workplace shootings from Columbine on down have either been on SSRIs or had very recently stopped taking them. I don't think it's an effort to turn us into sheeple, but prescribing these drugs is a billion dollar industry yearly and big pharma doesn't care about people, only profits.

Yeah, I also wonder how many of the U.S. congressmen, in both houses, are on the stuff. Is that why they seem asleep half the time, asleep at the wheel? Why doesn't anyone do a poll on that?!
