***SEC ROll Call ***

i love those South Carolina GameCOCK girls who are out there and the Georgia Bulldogs are always beautiful creatures as well

I don't get Urban Meyer...I get why he resigned...what I don't get is why he changed his mind...that's not (believe it or not) a slam to Florida... I just don't get how taking a "leave of absence" is going to help his health...you know he is still going to be very involved in everything that goes on...whatever...ROLL TIDE.

I'm guessing the leave of absence leaves room for him to change his mind once he figures out how to balance work, family, health, etc. (assuming he can find such a balance).

yeah...I don't like that. Commit...one way or the other...either stay, or quit...commit, and do it with confidence.

Saban -- have you ever heard of a god and his name is SPURRIER and he resides in Columbia South Carolina !!!!! LOL

Have you all not heard of C J Spiller the senior at Clemson that was very close to winning the Heisman this year, and lead Clemson to win the Music City bowl tonight?

Way to Go Tigers!

I agree with your sentiments in full. It makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. If Meyer had gone as far as to release a resignation statement proclaiming his dedication to God, family, and health, what exactly changed in the span of 12 hours? Either you made on the fly (which I do not think occurred) or you look like preening attention whore would needed his ego stroked after his dream season went down the drain. Either way, what little grudging respect I had him is now gone (not that he would care).

Oh, I have!

He's an amazing player, arguably better than Reggie Bush.

If Clemson had 2 fewer losses and won the ACC, I wouldn't have been surprised if Spiller won the Heisman.

His numbers just were gaudy enough to overcome Clemson's poor W-L record.

That's my point exactly. Don't make (AND ANNOUNCE!) the decision if you're just going to change your mind the next day. Leaving a team, conference, league, whatever...and trying something different for a season, realizing that was a mistake and if given the opportunity, you should go back is completely different than changing your mind the very next day!

I'm late joining this thread but Roll Tide ladies and gents!

You elephants should be grateful Florida didn't play Alabama like they played Cincinnati. Or maybe Cincinnati was just further evidence why the Big East should have its BCS card revoked.

Tennessee needs some vitamin shots. Arrgh! I am a Tennessee fan at heart, but thank goodness Clemson has been coming through.

And a nod to Tebow! Awesome player!

The only reason Meyer changed his mind from a full resignation to LoA is for recruiting purposes. You tell me..an 18 yo kids that wants to play for Meyer hears he is going to leave the program and you start looking at other folks....however that same kid hears that Meyer is just taking leave and could come back when he wants...come on..it's all for recruiting..that's the only story, period. Jeremy Foley doesn't want the big elephant creeping any closer to UF..not to mention UT, UGA, LSU, and Auburn are all right there and doing a hell of a job recruiting this year too.

Speaking of Auburn..how bout them Tigers..my boys won that game 4 times yesterday...lol after many up and downs we finally got the real win.

WAR DAMN EAGLE!!!

Hey we got the 3rd rated recruiting class accordign to some..way to go

I agree it is probably about recruiting but at least on UF's end would it not be better to a firm coach in place rather than instability of the Meyer situation, assuming he is not coming back. In addition, I would hate for him to string along these kids if there is a substantial probability he will not take over again.

While agree with you on this full statement I will say this Florida Football is BIG HUGE business. They will do anything they HAVE to do to keep it that way...and if it means getting an 18yo signature on the line to do it by having a coach of Meyer's capability on "leave" rather than gone they will do it. Don't think for a minute Alabama (being the other huge program right now in the SEC) or Oklahoma or USC wouldn't do the same thing.

Good points all around. I totally agree with you both! Don't think Saban wouldn't jump on some kid who has just been let down by Meyer...and who could blame him? You're right...everybody else would do the same thing. What I can't figure out though, is why he announced that he was leaving and then, less than 24 hours changed his mind...shouldn't UF had had all their shit together BEFORE he made the announcement?

I think he honestly wants to resign..and when he announced it there was probably some negative recruiting issues and Jeremy Foley got with Meyer and they worked it out...I think Meyer "agreed" to that second presser so that it would save Florida some face. I think he loves the University enuff to make himself look slightly less in the public's eye to save the University of Florida.

Just my 2 cents.

You're probably right...I just don't see why they weren't on the same page to begin with...honestly, I don't care. Hopefully, it will prove to be a distraction for Florida & Alabama will continue to rule the SEC...great game to the Tigers the other day, by the way...the overtime win (s) were killing me, but great game!

I don't think it will make much difference from Alabama's point of view..nor will it make alot of difference from anyone else's UNLESS he does decide to resign and then all bets are off.
