They were at a party and i think everyone was there as well, her parents, his parents, friends.
He then decides to propose to her because they had already talked about marriage and both knew it was only a matter of time, but the girlfriend freaks out, runs away and leaves the boyfriend behind still on his knees.
As she's leaving, another guy (who was also his friend) follows her and things become clear for him that he had been betrayed by both. They (the friend and ex-girlfriend) get married a few weeks later which proves him to be right, he puts it all behind him and moves away. A few years later she reappears asking him to go to their class reunion begging forgiveness. A few things happen from there on, but i think that's all i remember.
It's a really good story that i'd like to re-read and also see if the author has some other good stories like this one, please help
