I've been hanging around Lit for quite some time now, but utterly, utterly neglected these discussion boards. I'm hoping there's someone reading who will see this and think "hey, that's me!"
Basically, I'm ultimately looking for a serious relationship. I'll begin with what I want from a potential partner, then move on to what I'm looking for in the actual person. What I want from a relationship is someone to hold hands with, run around town with--someone to hug and kiss and cuddle with. Physical and emotional closeness are important to me. I like reminders that things are still mutual.
Proximity is a must ... we can start with email or Instant Messages and work from there, but I want to meet in person eventually. I have a pretty clear picture of what I want and need, including a full complement of physical details ... but I want to stress that looks AREN'T that important--I just know what I find arousing.
I’m a guy, and I won’t say that physical appearance isn't important to me, because it is. Some things will disqualify you, but it takes rather a lot. My preferences, however, are as follows: hair should be long and the darker the shade, the better. Black with brown highlights and raven are two of my favorite shades for hair. Eyes should be green or gray. Complexion is unimportant, but I like freckles. I think they’re decorative. I would prefer a woman who’s roughly equal in height to me, but height overall is pretty low on the scale of importance. As for weight, I can go either way. Petite girls are more cute than anything else, really. A girl doesn’t need to have a body like a centerfold to catch my eye. In fact, I kind of prefer girls who are slightly round. (I can’t be too picky about weight, being slightly overweight myself. ) Breast size depends on the girl, and body type. I don’t mind small breasts at all. But huge ones—especially those that have obviously been augmented—are really not arousing. They look kind of freakish to me. (On a thin-supermodel type that is ... Like I said, it depends a lot on the girl and her body type. My last girlfriend was a 38D, and I found her very sexy.) I have a lot of body hair myself, so I don’t mind hirsute women—in fact I rather think armpits are just as well left unshaved—though trimmed. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a girl with too much body hair.
Alright, that wraps it up for physical preferences (which, again, are pretty low on my list of priorities—I can tell you a couple stories about girls you might not think all that attractive who really managed to get under my skin). I'll move on to personality. A potential romantic partner should be interested in a lot of the same things as me—but not all, because that would get boring. Ideally, she’ll be a good cook and like food as much as I do. She ought to have at least a rudimentary understanding of what’s going on in the World At Large. Ideally, she will be an avid reader and have a taste for my own personal style, but I’m not going to delude myself here. No matter who she is, no girl is going to love everything I write. She ought to have a rudimentary understanding of world history as well as current politics. She should at least have the motivation to understand what our elected leaders are doing.
Naturally, the virtue of compassion is also important. In fact, it’s probably the most important thing on this list. Her favorite activities should include staying in bed on a cold day, holding down furniture, enjoying good food and talking. (And cuddling, of course.) She must be receptive to my back-rubs. Very few things on this list are deal-breakers. This one is. (I'm sure there are girls out there who are thinking "not receptive to a back-rub?? Who in their right mind would turn down a back-rub??" But these girls did, I kid you not.)
Political leanings should be right-center (I favor the individual over the State, very nearly in all things). Occupation and financial standing are pretty unimportant. If you're actually worried about looking like a money-leech, you probably won't. (Unless you're worried because you are and you think I'll catch on. ) Besides, I habitually buy presents anyway. And as for the job ... well, your job is something you DO, not something you ARE. The most important thing is that it be something you enjoy doing. (Or, near my age, she could likely be a student. And that's okay, too.)
An independent mind and the ability to make decisions are also important. My last girl had a problem with indecision ... (I can't do ALL the thinking ALL the time!)
As for myself ... I'm 22 years old, I work as a full-time Night Auditor, and I really like my job. (95% of the time, at least.) I like Science-fiction and fantasy films and literature (I'd have said TV as well, but I don't watch much of it anymore ...) Hobbies include RolePlaying Games (Shadowrun), Interactive Stories (Kupopolis), and Conspiracy Theory. I try to keep up on politics, but more and more often I fail at that lately ... (bad time to do that, I know.) I've often been told I'm a pretty smart guy (though I'm not sure if I believe that), and that I'm sweet. And cute. I'd post a link to pictures, but the site that hosts 'em is down at the moment, so I'll be back to edit or add a post later today maybe.
