Searching for Legends {closed for FireyIce}

"I honestly don't know," he admitted as he looked at Daemon. "The only thing I can tell is that your soul is very dark, corrupted all over. It feels like you're very older than you appear. And very powerful." He continued to look at Daemon as he waited to see how his guess measured up.

Darkness is relative but let us just say I remember those that our history calls the black kings as mere whelps running around their grandfathers kingdom. Steele and I are... of the same dietary requirements.

Daemon laughed fangs shimmering aas he watches the young halfbreed.

Eden there should be enough room here and worry not about your overprotective neighbors you are safe here and they know it. Show the boy how correct he is... provided that outfit is dedicated to return when you return to normal.

Eden glared but looked to Steele who simply nodded and she growled a little as her form began to ripple and stretch with bones cracking and resealing until a long sleek dead black panther leaped up on to the desk with a growl and sniffed at the outsider.

Tobin looked in amazement at the transformation. "Oh my," he said as he moved closer to Eden. "Am I allowed to pet her?" he inquired as he reached out his hand. "So where is this other ghost at to see if I'm real or not?"

Steele shrugged.

I wouldn't try it but you are not a vampire so who know how the feline will react. This is why she can guide us most of the way till the ghosts magic overpowers her senses.

Tobin started to slowly pet Eden slowly on the top of her head. "It's so bizzare, but cool at the same time," he said. He moved back after a little bit as he somewhat expected her to return to normal. "So when will we start this journey?" he asked.

Eden snarled faintly but accepted the petting he was after all new to all of this and did not know any better. Steele just glanced at her and back to Tobin.

Once you are settled. Where are you staying or have you even got that far in your overzealous search for out quiet little town?

Daemon just chuckled and watched the show the young ones were putting on before him.

Tobin looked over at him. "I was thinking of getting a place at the hotel while I'm here. It always depends on what I do or don't find before I decide when to leave," he told them. "I'm not sure what I'll do as far as lodging if this place is where all the answers lie. I may just need to play it by ear for the most part," he said. "Trust me, I don't want to do anything to disturb this town."

Good Dameon snorted when he said he did not want to do anything to disturb the town.

Steele just shook his head at Dameon and nodded to Tobin.

Castilo Sylvian would be your best bet. decent rooms good prices for outsiders especially those that are like you or us. One warning though about their... if you see a solid black housecat with a blue gem dangling from its collar... that is Essence she is skittish around people so just give her some room Her attack is worse than your average mortal housecat.

"I appreciate the advice," he told Dameon. "Is Essence a shifter like Eden is?" he asked as he looked at Eden, noticing that she was still a cat.

Steele chuckled a little.

Something like that. While Eden has only one feline form Essence can take on any feline form. Freed from a human sideshow she is still a little edgy about people especially human born.

Eden watched him for a long while before returning to human form and her clothing seeming to slowly replace the fur as she once more stood there watching him as she spoke.

I will have to get word to the ghost that we are bringing her someone to read so perhaps tomorrow.

"That works for me. Where is the hotel at?" he asked as he watched Eden change back from her animal form. "Perhaps someone can walk with me to get there?" he inquired while giving a small glance at Eden.

Eden noticed the glance.

I need to head home anyways I can show him.

Steele noticed the glance too.

Is that wise?

You think I can't deal with a halfbreed with no real clue about bloodline or power?

Eden snarled as Steele shook his head and shrugged.

See you tomorrow opening shift bartender Eden.

Tobin watched as Eden talked to Steele. Seeing how he was packing light he didn't have much to worry about carrying as they started to make their way to the hotel. "So what is this place like on a normal day?" he asked as they made their way. "Aside from me being a halfbreed, are most people accepting of outsiders?" He tried to check her out a little bit as he followed a little bit behind her.

Some yes some no. this was a fairly open city long ago before the War between the black kings... left a bad taste with most of the survivors and the humans here especially. Just play it by ear and become a fast study of how to read people or if you can't talk to Steele about them.

She shrugged and kept walking but felt eyes on her as he was checking her out and snarled faintly.

He followed her until she got him to the hotel. "What's your thought on me then, Eden?" he asked. "Please be honest. I get the impression you don't trust me that much." He was hoping she would provide a descent amount of insight with her assessment so far. "Do you think I'm a part of the Black Kings?" he asked, not sure how she would react.

No there is no one left of the Black Kings. As for you... I am not big on outsiders... too many come here and start trouble both mortal and supernaturals... hunters and all sorts of grief. Sometimes outsiders are not the trouble but they bring it with them with people hunting them.

She turned around staring at him up and down.

As for you... only time and Adryanna will tell but Dameon seems to be doubtful... The three Elementalis tended to have lots of trouble following them... Those that Gaia threw out of her graces and family seeking revenge like their grandfather before Gaia claimed them her grandchildren and their mother her daughter tossing out her own sons for petty and actions of abomination and cruelty beyond acceptable existence. If you are from the Dark Born's line trouble is sure to be following you know it or not. If you are from the Fire born's line... who knows... The Water Born's line... death and madness tend to follow... Literally.

Tobin listened as Eden told him her thoughts. I don't think anyone followed me here. They made their way to the hotel. He checked in and got a room for himself.

"Is there any place you would recommend to eat at?" he inquired. "I haven't ate anything in a while," he told her. He was hoping that she would offer to join him for dinner as well.

Pointing to a place across the street she shrugged.

Diner over there is pretty good I have been told. I tend to prefer hunting down dinner.

A smile revealing very animalistic teeth.

Dinner time. Be careful Tobin.

With that she shifted and was gone into the shadows for now.

"Thanks," Tobin said as she told him where the restaurant and hotel was. He got a small shiver as he watched Eden start to shift back into her animal form after mentioning hunting for food.

Tobin made his way to the hotel and got a room for the night. He explained he wasn't sure how many nights he would be staying so it would be based on a day to day basis. After getting his room he got a quick shower in and then headed over to get some dinner.

The next morning there was a massive black leopard sleeping right outside his door and signs that there had been an attack of some kind though looking at her it was clear that it had been her preventing someone from harassing the outsider.

Tobin looked down at the black leopard as he opened the door. "Is that you, Eden?" he asked as he saw the sleeping animal. He also noticed there were signs of some kind of attack. He wondered what happened since he didn't hear anything last night.

The feline lifted its head and looked at him before slowly shifting back to human form.

Like I said some people around here don't like outsiders.but they don't like angering me even more.

There was still a bit of shock on Tobin's face even though he knew that it was Eden. "What the hell happened?" he asked. "Are you hurt?" He was still trying to get use to the fact that she was shifting back into a human from an animal.

Someone tried to show up and scare you off or get rid of you and Well I saw them before they saw me and Don't worry they walked away they just didn't like having to walk.

She leaned back against the wall watching him.

She will meet with you... We meet Steele at the base of the mountain in an hour.

"I don't think I want to know," Tobin said as he heard about Eden attacking his attacker. He looked at her as she leaned against the wall. "Just give me a few and let me get cleaned up," he said as he started to go and start a shower. "What is she like?" he inquired as he started to get into the shower.
