Search History Reveal

We've all heard about how vulnerable our personal information is and I've wondered (except for banking and medical info) how much dirt could someone accurately pin on me. How could they connect my search history to me and reveal this to the world? I got a scam email recently suggesting my info and laptop camera had been hijacked and x-rated footage of me had been accessed and saved for blackmail. Of course the usual instructions on money transfers followed. Total scam. Pressed delete. But what if my private info had been hijacked. What would they learn about me. What would they learn about you??
