Personally I like Scubapro gear for the most part. I've got a SP BC and fins, but my wetsuit is US diver. I have dove The gulf of Mexico, Hawaii and Lake Michigan (that was really cold mind you)

Any other open water divers out there?

What!!!!!!!!!! No muff diving either? Come on you guys...

What's It Like Ta Dive In A Lake!?

Murky I Bet!

I Totally LOVE The Idea Of Diving, But I Know I'd Be Scared Outta My Head! Odd, That's What Water Is.

I went diving once, back when I was about 12.
*sigh* I want to go do that again...

It was the middle of summer, at a little island near Kota Kinabalu... crystal clear waters with lots of fishies, and the occasional baracuda

Depends on the lake and at what depth you are. I dove Grand Traverse Bay and it was murky as in couldn't see my hand in front of my mask. I have dove some other lakes...oddly enough couldnt tell you if Lake Mead is murky or not...not dove it...

Tree roots can look like aliens...its freaky.

Clearest lake was a farm pond actually...

Never been a big fan of the US Diver's stuff, although it isn't bad.

bit of a mish mash with my gear....

a generic wetty from the local dive chain (Pro Dive), as well as fins, and an older decor mask.

I have a aluminium tank of some description and the rest of the gear i hire.

Usually since i really only go with groups from the same chain of stores, i know the hire gear and trust it

I have my PADI open water, and am considering doing my advanced... not sure though.

I'm diving for the blankets and my pillows...I'll come up for air later. :)

I have SSI open water. I tend to rent my tanks but bring my own octopus. I have silicone mouth pieces and I don't like the hard rubber ones. US Diver stands for UnSafe diver if you ask me...but I am a bit of a snob. :) Where have you dove?

all local east coast Australian stuff.

Jervis Bay, Nelson Bay, around the local area called Cronulla and a most brilliant dive in the shark tank of one of the city's Aquariums (scared hell out of me, but very very cool)

I would love to go to Guam or Truk Lagoon and there is some damn good ones around Indonesia and Papua New Guinea

although i *can* hold my breath for a really, really long time if i had to...

Scubapro here Rhys. I perfer diving dry, but sometimes in the summer I will go wet. Just gets too damn cold here in the Pac NW to dive wet anymore.

And just remember baby, diver's stay down longer.

yeah I did the dry suit for Grand Traverse...different experince...kinda like wearing a rubber band...

I would like to dive Truk, Belize, Cayman, and the Great Barrier Reef. I'd actually like to get in one of the shark cages and dive with the Great Whites...

You have the orca's up there...isn't that rubbing beach a good dive spot or no?

There are a ton of great dives on the island Rhys, plenty of wrecks, reefs, etc etc.
