If they say beer is nectar of the gods, then scotch must be the beer of the gods....or something like that. Are you a scotch fan? What is your everyday, and your go-to scotch?

Apologies to our Scottish friends, please substitute Whiskey for the word Scotch in my post.

Currently watching CFB with a glass of single malt Deanston's, my go-to is Macallan 18 yr.

PS. the search function doesn't work for me, I'm sure there have been previous scotch threads. Sorry, not sorry as the kids say....

Evidently, there are only two civilized persons with good taste amongst the Literotica.com unwashed masses....

Proper single malt whisky is too good to waste on the Gods.

Aye!

Sláinte!

PS. To the OP, I don’t have a go to Whisky. It depends on the day, the occasion, and the company.

In no particular order, Glenfarclas, Glenmorangie, Aberlour, Talisker, Glenrothes, and in a pinch The Macallan.

I'm currently blowing thru a handle of Dewars. It's fairly cheap and quite good. :)

Finished off a bottle of Montgomerie's a few weeks back. Currently working on a bottle of Glen Kirk. If I want to go really peaty (think licking an ashtray) I go with Ardbeg, paired with a good Cuban (cigar, not sandwich).

When I finally get around to having a drink again whenever that might be I shall hoist a nice single malt just to honor the polite reminder about quality.

I'm slowly working my way through Irish whiskey but the firsr time I had a proper Scotch it was a 12 year old Glenmorangie single malt at suggestion of an old-timer in the Hotel Congress bar when I mentioned my late in life start and how I had not yet gotten around to trying a Scotch. It was peaty and smooth and a really nice, mellow drunk.

I had a shot of Glenlivet and was unimpressed. Tasted like a charcoal briquette marinated in Jack Daniel's. It was an unpleasant, irritable sort of drunk.

Not really a whisky drinker, but if pressed would choose an Oban 18.

Being pedantic whiskey is Irish ,whisky is Scots .
Highland Park is one that immediately springs to mind ,but any single malt is enjoyable .
My current bottle is Glenlivet Founders Choice .

Not a whiskey fan. I do like bourbon though (which technically is classed as a whiskey even though it’s not). The sweetness hits the spot whereas the flavour of whiskey to me tastes...burnt?

I know it’s not a scotch but I like Blanton’s bourbon.

I did buy myself a bottle of Penderyn grand slam this year but it’ll never be opened. It’s a portwood single malt.
