As the Mystery Machine squeaked to a halt outside the dilapidated Victorian hotel, Daphne and Velma peered out the windshield at the ominous construct, lit by snaps of purple lightening in the stormy sky.

Fred was certain this was their next big case, but the girls were unsure now, especially Daphne. They'd been on the road for over a month now and she was dying for a spa day. Velma, however, was constantly documenting their adventures, when she wasn't wandering off with Shaggy and Scooby. If it wasn't for the occasional tryst with Fred, Daphne would have quit long ago.

According to Fred, this hotel was being haunted by the ghost of its first owner, appearing at night to frighten everyone away, and the current owner was about to go out of business.

Gathering their things, the gang piled out of the van and headed inside, ready for another exciting mystery.

The Great Dane looked at the creepy hotel backlit by thunder and lightning. Letting his instincts command his actions – he promptly leapt back into the Mystery Machine and proceeded to cower under his doggie blanket. “Scooby!” called out Velma, “Don’t be such a scaredy-cat!”

Producing a box guaranteed to coerce any canine to perform any feat, the bespectacled girl added, “If you come out, I’ll give you a Scooby Snack….”

“Scooby Snacks!” yelped the dog as he exited the Mystery Machine and started begging for his favorite treat. Beside him, his human master also joined Scooby-Doo in asking for a Scooby Snack, “How about me, Velma?” said Shaggy, “Don’t I get a Scooby Snack?”

Daphne rolled her eyes at Scooby and Shaggy, both slaves to those stupid cookies. She crossed her arms and waited under the awning of the hotel with Fred as Velma coaxed them out of the van and back inside.

The lobby was old but had been luxurious in its day. For now, it was empty except for the gang, and a miserable looking older woman behind the desk, hunkered under a shawl against the chill.

As they approached the desk, Daphne looked to Fred and shrugged as the woman ignored them, finally forcing Fred to ring the bell on the counter before them to get her attention.

“Want do you want?” said the woman sitting at the reception desk. In response, Fred spoke up and answered, “We’d like to stay for the night.”

“How many?” asked the grumpy old woman as his eyes narrowed and looked at Fred.

“Four,” the blonde promptly replied – concerned that any less might provoke suspicion. Looking to Daphne, Fred turned to the redhead for confirmation as he added, “Isn't that right, Daphne?”

Daphne blinked a bit at the question from Fred, then nodded to the manager as she got Freds meaning.

"Huh? Oh, yes, right, four rooms."

She was planning on ending up in Freds room anyway, just like at all the other hotels, but lately she thought Velma was getting suspicious with her big brain, and she didn't want to make her sweet, slightly thicker friend feel bad that her and Fred were having fun on the side.

---------------
Velma finished carrying in the bags, with no help from the rest of the gang, and sat on top of them as Daphne and Fred negotiated the rooms. Shaggy and Scooby, meanwhile, were busy looking wide eyed around the lobby. Scooby was most likely looking out for ghosts he couldn't see, while Shaggy was likely stating at ghosts he thought he saw, considering that massive cloud that had followed him out of the back of the van

“Follow me,” said the old woman as she fished out four room keys for the gang. Meanwhile, Shaggy and Scooby searched the hotel’s dining room. When Shaggy read out loud, “Dining… Room…” he turned to Scooby and said: “Let’s go check it out, Scooby!”

However, the dog’s knees knocked loudly as he peered into the dark chamber. As his canine companion whimpered his disapproval, Shaggy began shoving Scooby into the dining room when Fred called out to them: “Shaggy! Scooby! Let’s go help Velma with the luggage!”

“Yes, Fred!” Shaggy half-heartedly replied as he said to Scooby, “Let’s go help Velma, Scooby…” As he approached Velma, Shaggy heard Fred say to Velma, “Let me get these for you, Velma.” Finally, when he came near the brunette, Shaggy asked, “Need help, Velma?”

Daphne collected the keys and waited by the desk for the boys to help Velma with the luggage, buffing her nails on her sweater as she did. The place was old, but it was nicer than the crummy motor lodges they usually stayed in on a case.

Meanwhile, Velma grabbed her and Daphnes bags and caught up with the group at the desk, waiting with her redheaded friend while Fred tried to wrangle Shaggy and Scooby.

"Jinkies...Do those two ever think about anything else?"

“I don’t think so…” Fred commented with discomfort as he hefted the heavier bags. “Come on, guys,” he shouted back at Shaggy and Scooby, “are you going to let a girl carry all our luggage?”

Velma dropped the bags with a grunt, sighing and dusting off her top as she surveyed the hotel lobby. It was classic, that's for sure, with lots of dark woods and rich furniture, but also lots of dark corners.

In the end, this would probably turn out like all the other cases with some wierdo in a mask scaring people for profit, but as a part of the group she'd never admit that out loud.

Meanwhile, Daphne was becoming impatient. She'd been sneaking off with Freddie more and more lately, and while they never discussed it, the whole group knew what was going on with them. Velma couldn't argue that the idea appealed to her, and she'd spent a few nights pleasuring herself beneath the covers in her room, imagining Freds hardness buried inside Daphne while the redhead moaned in pleasure.

Shaggy and Scooby wanted to drop the suitcases so that they might resume their search for sustenance. Unfortunately for them, Fred watched them in order to make sure they followed Velma’s instructions to the letter. As they audibly labored under the strain of the heavy luggage, Shaggy asked Velma, “Can we put your stuff down, Velma? We’re getting hungry just standing here?”

Meanwhile, Fred heard someone hissing from behind, which turned out to be Daphne. He knew that she wanted him to join her in bed, but he needed to supervise Shaggy and Scooby. (The pair might run off – leaving Velma to do all the work – as usual.)

On the other hand, he also wanted to give Daphne her suitcases, so he said to Velma, “I’m going to go and give Daphne her belongings.” Before leaving the room, though, he added, “Call if need help with Shaggy and Scooby….”

When he went inside Daphne’s room, Fred announced (since he saw no sign of the redhead), “I brought your things, Daphne. Where do you want me to put them?”

Velma struggled getting the rest of the luggage settled in her room and dropped down onto the bed, sighing. Shaggy and Scooby were still dragging the rest of the bags up the stairs, complaining about being hungry the entire time.

Velma nodded to Freddie as he mentioned bringing Daphne her things, fairly certain her and Shaggy would be on their own for a while now.

As Freddie entered her room and called out for Daphne, she stepped out from the bathroom and smiled at him. "Oh thank goodness. You took forever Freddie!"

She stood there smiling at him, having she'd her sweater and bra, hand resting on her slender hip. With an arched brow she looked him over, asking "So, how long do we have before we'll be missed? " She asked idly, her fingers gently running over her naked breast, caressing as she questioned him.

Hearing his stomach growl, Shaggy complained to Velma, “Can we go now, Velma?” In order to emphasize their state of famishment, Scooby whimpered in assent as Shaggy added, “We’re really starved?”

Back in Daphne’s room, Fred replied, “We can take our time.” He proceeded to undress as he asked, “Should I shower before we begin?”
