I'm disappointed that there wasn't one. Shows that Schumer doesn't want to fight.

He might. Not my issue. I don't think his politics are as savvy as some thing.
But he did get some air time and angered the right for a bit....which isn't nothing.

It's just been a while since we've seen a filibuster, which would allow a greater impact to have one.

Your positions have aligned with mine more than they haven't recently.

Maybe you need others to help make your positions. Thats ok...maybe bring in a few other users to help you.

The reason was the perceived / potential risk that President Musk (and DonOld) would completely demolish the government’s ability to function in the interim during a shutdown. Schumer (and others) allegedly feared that thousands of employees would be furloughed during a government shutdown and never brought back (or they would move on to other jobs.)

Schumer’s (and other’s) concerns were legitimate, but at some point they become moot.



It’s ultimately going to take the voters experiencing a completely ineffectual government (See: The voters in red states not liking what President Musk (and DonOld) are doing) before they wholesale reject what the MAGAts stand for.

I personally believe a government shutdown and MOAR gutting of critical services would have accelerated the downfall of the MAGAts.

And I am NOT typically / usually an accelerationist, but in this case I’ll make an exception.
