Schumer At It Again...

the link shows several actual politicians agreeing that it should be delayed with one random nobody saying he heard it will go on as planned.

otherwise it's a solid point!

Here is how the great legal mind of Kavanaugh works:

If Monica Lewinsky says that on several occasions in the Oval Office area, you used your fingers to stimulate her vagina and bring her to orgasm, would she be lying?

If Monica Lewinsky says that she gave you oral sex on nine occasions in the Oval Office area, would she be lying?

If Monica Lewinsky says that you ejaculated into her mouth on two occasions in the Oval Office area, would she be lying?

If Monica Lewinsky says that on several occasions you had her give her oral sex, made her stop, and then ejaculated into the sink in the bathroom off the Oval Office, would she be lying?

If Monica Lewinsky says that you masturbated into a trashcan in your secretary’s office, would she by lying?

Real Constitutional scholar that one. How that has anything to do with the Whitewater land deal is beyond me

The real dubious "Constitutional scholar" here is you. How Judge Kavanaugh's particular line of questioning makes him responsible for the expansion of the Lewinsky affair into the Whitewater investigation by a three-judge Court of Appeals panel at the specific request of Attorney General Janet Reno, is beyond me:

Court Order Expanding Starr's Inquiry Released

Here is the Jan. 16 order by the three-judge appeals court panel authorizing Ken Starr to expand his Whitewater investigation to cover the Monica Lewinsky matter:

"Upon consideration of an oral application for the expansion of jurisdiction of an Independent Counsel provided to this court on behalf of the Attorney General on January 16, 1998, it is hereby ORDERED that the investigative and prosecutorial jurisdiction over the following matters be referred to Independent Counsel Kenneth W. Starr and to the Office of the Independent Counsel as an expansion of prosecutorial jurisdiction in lieu of the appointment of another Independent Counsel pursuant to 593(c)(1):

"(1) The Independent Counsel shall continue to enjoy the full jurisdiction initially conferred upon him as a result of the August 5, 1994, order of the Special Division of the Court and all subsequent orders concerning jurisdiction. Pursuant to 28 U.S.C. 593(c)(1), the Independent Counsel's jurisdiction shall be expanded to include the following:

"(2) The Independent Counsel shall have jurisdiction and authority to investigate to the maximum extent authorized by the Independent Counsel Reauthorization Act of 1994, whether Monica Lewinsky or others suborned perjury, obstructed justice, intimidated witnesses, or otherwise violated federal law other than a Class B or C misdemeanor or infraction in dealing with witnesses, potential witnesses, attorneys, or others concerning the civil case

"(3) The Independent Counsel shall have jurisdiction and authority to investigate related violations of federal criminal law, other than a Class B or C misdemeanor or infraction, including any person or entity who has engaged in unlawful conspiracy or who has aided or abetted any federal offense, as necessary to resolve the matter described above.

"(4) The Independent Counsel shall have jurisdiction and authority to investigate crimes, such as any violation of 28 U.S.C. 1826, any obstruction of the due administration of justice, or any material false testimony or statement in violation of federal criminal law, arising out of his investigation of the matter described above.

"(5) The Independent Counsel shall have all the powers and authority provided by the Independent Counsel Reauthorization Act of 1994:

"It is further ORDERED that this document and its contents be remain under seal absent further Order of this Court.

"This is the 16th day of January, 1998."

... And from the request made by Attorney General Janet Reno:

"In accordance with the Independent Counsel Reauthorization Act of 194, I hereby notify in writing the Special Division of the Court that I have commenced a preliminary investigation, 28 U.S.C 592(a)(1), into whether violations of federal criminal law were committed by Monica Lewinsky or any other individual, as described below. As a result of my inquiry into this matter, I request expansion of the jurisdiction of Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr to further investigate and determine whether prosecution is warranted. 28 U.S.C. 593(c)(1). The Court has already been informed of this matter and my request orally.

"The Department of Justice has received information from Independent Counsel Kenneth Starr that Monica Lewinsky, a former White House employee and witness in the civil case , may have submitted a false affidavit and suborned perjury from another witness in the case. In a taped conversation with a cooperating witness, Ms. Lewinsky states that she intends to lie when deposed. In the same conversation, she urges the cooperating witness to lie in her own upcoming deposition.

"I have determined that it would be a conflict of interest for the Department of Justice to investigate Ms. Lewinsky for perjury and suborning perjury as a witness in this civil suit involving the president, in light of the allegations involved in the lawsuit. 28 U.S.C. 591(c)(1).

"I have also determined that the taped conversation establishes that further investigation of this matter is warranted. 28 U.S.C. 592(c)(1).

"It would be appropriate for Independent Counsel Starr to handle this matter because he is currently investigating similar allegations involving possible efforts to influence witnesses in his own investigation. Some potential subjects and witnesses in this matter overlap with those in his ongoing investigation. Independent Counsel Starr has requested that this matter be referred to him."

This is why it's a complete waste of time to discuss Politics on the GB most of you blowhards on here don't even know the basics about our government and the mere 535 representatives and Senators that comprise it.

You pick a tribe and spout whatever party line that is fed to you by tweet and Facebook memes. You only know as much of the cast of characters that your propagandists tell you to support or be outraged by. Otherwise, you likely don't even know your senator.

Just because *you* haven't heard of Senator Grassley does not make what he has to say on the matter unimportant. He is not reporting what he heard, he is reporting what he has decided to do.

...because he has the authority to make that decision

...because he's chairman of the Judiciary Committee that gets to decide when and if Kavanagh has his hearing.

oh snaps! except i was talking about steven dennis in a direct link from the article to his twitter.

bloomberg blogger :D

foiled again q! :D

Schumer's only limiting rhetorical metric is the baseline established by Sheila Jackson Lee, Maxine Waters, Pelosi, Pocahontas, Hank Johnson, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the LWCJ talking head shows and the people who think that this gaggle will catapult them from welfare status to CEO status.

He cannot win this in the Senate. He just wants to wind up his base to win the House so that they can "impeach" Trump much like the Republicans before who thought that impeaching Clinton was a winning hand.

The docs are coming. Kavanaugh is a dirty bird.

“We know Ken Starr played a dangerous game of using the news media to prosecute his case in the court of public opinion, and we know that Brett Kavanaugh was an important part of Starr’s team,” said Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island. “This report may show us whether Kavanaugh stepped over a critically important line for all prosecutors.”

Schumer forgets that while Bill Clinton was under investigation for far worse nobody called for the nomination of Justice Beyers to be held up.
What felonies was Clinton accused of committing in order to get elected in the run up to his election?

Well your question doesn't make any sense but Bill Clinton was accused of felonies before he ran for President. Juanita Broaddrick claimed Bill Clinton raped her in an Arkansas hotel room in 1978. Another woman, Eileen Wellstone, claimed Clinton raped her while he was at Oxford University in the late 1960s. What does this have to do with Schumer's action?

Why?

You don't know anything about politics.

All you knew was that some guy said something on a tweet and some politicians that you call actual politicians who don't have any say on whether or not there is a hearing said there wouldn't be one, and you aren't at all interested in the fact that the guy who schedules the hearing said it'll be held.

Since you don't know anything about what you're talking about why would I discuss politics with you?

But the release of Judge Kern's Special Masters report has not one damn thing to do with your silly snipe at the wholly appropriate form of interrogation Kavanaugh would/did pursue in a sworn deposition. The Masters report is about the improper leaking of confidential information. Two different things.

You're just throwing dirt at whatever wall you'd like to hit and then looking around for the next unrelated pile of shit. As usual.

My goodness....that means that NotVettebigot was sadly mistaken once again!
He's on a bit of a streak

But hey he's really smart. He even says so. I don't know if he's as smart as the stable genius but he's got to be in the area I'm sure.

i know how to read without blind hate for someone with opposing views. i know that you embarrassed yourself and you're too wrapped up in internet wars to be a real man and apologize. but I also know more about politics than you
