I started to write a story that was about a Daddy Dom/babygirl dynamic style relationship that was set in the 18th century America. I sort of like the strong-willed younger woman with an older dominant, successful man. She marries him to benefit her family. Her unwillingness to marry him, coupled with her youth and independence makes him word hard to win her trust and affections, as well as loyalty and obedience (in the usual male-dominated marriage). He tries to mold her into the perfect little bride, with great difficulty. They grow to love each other and in his efforts to mold her into the perfect little bride, he opens up a new side of her and himself. They live on a large successful plantation. One day she observed him whipping one of the slaves and it sort of aroused her in a way she had never felt before.

I am not sure where to do with this anymore. Lol help?

First there is one problem, you say in there she marries him to help her family, but then say she is unwilling to marry him. Contrast in terms there so little confusing.

That aside there is a good basis. Couple ways you can go with it, since she either wants to be whipped or wants to have control. You were not precisely clear in that. Anyway, if she wishes to be whipped then I can see him doing it to her and having his own little slave girl to ravish in bed every night.

Alternately she becomes a good little slave girl to everybody. Little harder to do that since need to have a set up where she finds herself at their mercy without them being shot. Couple ways to do that, either he brings up men to do it to her, this would be while he does the same to the women, or he is called away and she can't just finger herself to satisfaction so they take advantage.

Now if you go the other way, this would turn either into a cruel mistress who gives them no satisfaction. This would lead to the slaves running away. Alternately she gives them sex as well, doesn't have to be actual sex, blow and handjobs would work. Can see this as either she is submissive to husband, or they both are dominating the slaves and getting pleasure from them and only share a bed to sleep.

Any of the above has happened, just won't find much in the way of writing on it. Children from her would be house servants if she got pregnant from the slaves, not slaves precisely but still seen that way since she would not admit to being mom to outsiders. Deathbed freeing of slaves happened to the parents and children coming from unions with the owners.

She is unwilling to marry him in spite of the social status and financial advantages involved because...?

Because he is too old for her???

I think this would be too modern a misgiving. In the 1700s men were very often far older than their brides.

She is unwilling to marry him, emotionally but physically she goes through with it (like many women did) but doesn't give up herself emotionally-....I should have used a different word- Sure he has money? but she feels that he is much too older than him and she doesn't love him (I was trying to avoid the whole "already has a love interest" thing...) A lot of women married for financial gain during that period. the extend of her reasons for not wanting to marry him were going to be figured out later sort of amongst the whole set up part *total brain fart*

I have an Italian film in my romance DVDs collection with a similar scene.

The wealthy owner of a county estate in the 1940s is visited by the adult daughter of his former mistress who has recently died. He extends his welcome and allows her to stay with him for a week...during which, she discovers some audio tapes in a locked chest while wandering about the house at night.

The tapes reveal part of her mother's diary, and contain some very erotic descriptions of her sexual encounters with the 'master of the house'.

This enflames her imagination, and she finds herself becoming more engaging and seductive in his presence.

During one episode, she asks a farmhand to reveal himself, on account of the gossip she's heard among the maids...and he produces an enormous phallus to her complete amazement.

Of course, witnessing this little interlude just makes matters worse, as the dominant stance adopted only enflames her arousal to an undeniable pitch!

I recommend learning more about the times and attitudes and social conventions you wanna write about.

There's an excellent book, THE BARBER OF NATCHEZ by William Johnson, that's a memoir of a black planter, banker, and businessman of the 1850s at Natchez Mississippi. So many people were beholden to him that he suffered no discrimination.

Based on what I know, and I know a lot, female defiance was usually directed at their fathers, because daddy controlled the wealth, and many young women found themselves disinherited and penniless if they twisted daddy's tail too often. Wise fathers found appealing husbands for their daughters, to encourage obedience.

But some wives cheated when hubby was outta town, usually with hubbys nephew or younger brother. It was dangerous, though. Gunfights were the usual outcome when hubby found out, and he always found out.
