Scarves

I never liked wearing scarves when I was a kid. I thought you were supposed to wear it covering your mouth. Being a kid i would coat the scarve with spit if I wore it for too long.
I've had a charnge of heart now as an adult (yeah, right!) I've been wearing one for a bit and often just have it around my neck and throat. Wow, it works.
And I'm downright dashing, too!

my mom would send me off to school when I was little in full winter combat mode: hat (pulled down to right above my eyes) scarf (over the mouth and nose - right up to my lower eyelashes) and mittens (put on before the jacket - which had those wristband like cuffs). I looked like Ralphie's brother in "A Christmas Story".

Around the neck is much more comfortable.

Ok, Now i'm guilty of doing that with my son, poor sod is so stiff with padding he has to turn his whole body round just to look at me

LOL! Definatly a Randy He's So gonna hate me when he gets older, thats probably the reason he does a runner out the door every mornin.

I don't have a scarf. I usually wear a parka that cinches up tight around my neck when the weather is cold. I had a scarf. A long time ago. Given to me by a girlfriend prior to dating my now wife. It was an old scarf at least 10" wide and 6 feet long. It smelled just like my girlfriend. One day after being married for a couple of years, we were cleaning house and my wife pulled it off the shelf and asked if I wanted to keep the old rag. I said, "No." And as it went into the donation box, I remembered just when I got the scarf. Good memories washed over me. I might share them, someday.

I was wearing my daughter's team canada (red and white) hat with ear flaps, a baby blue and white scarf and purple mittens. I'm sure I was just charming *grin*

We don't get much scarf weather down here, but when we do its devestating. Unless you take ski vacations, nobody has the outdoor clothes for it. I used to have to work inside and out, all day long, so I came to love my scarf. I put on a wool scarf under a medium weight work jacket along wit a navy watch cap and I was set for Louisiana worst winter. Sometimes it gets in the 20's here and this icy stuff falls out of the sky.

A wear one any time I wear any of my better coats. The scarf stops the oils on your skin from getting onto the collar of the coat. Not a big deal for a ski jacket but if your coat has a leather collar that rubs against the back of your neck it is.

I like my scarf. It's about 6 feet long and is a lot of colors. One box is red, one is green, one is blue etc. It makes me smile.

I never wore a scarf, since my neck never felt cold. I wanted my ears covered first and sometimes my nose. Now I know bloodflow through the neck loses heat. I have one wool scarf waiting for winter.

some women 'collect' handbags and shoes, mine would be scarves....

I love scarves! have probably 30+ in different sizes and materials...
I always have a scarf in my carry on bag when flying and another in my work bag, in case it gets a bit cold.
