Scales & Spells

Verrith

I growled as I pulled a pair of potions off of my belt and downed them. I felt a better instantly as they and the healing energies from the scarabs went to work. I gave my wings an experimental flutter and was pleased to see they were working again too. But since i was invisible, no one else knew.

I touched the amulet at my neck but decided against calling Turp, but decided against it just yet. Instead, I recast Toxic weapon and true strike on my sword and myself respectively then slumped to the ground in a pained crouch.

I let my ring flicker and fade, though it still had a lot of time left in it for the day as I crouched on the ground, sword in hand and ready, tears streaming down my face in reaction to the earlier strike.

((Sorry for the slow reply; writer's block. Also, I forgot that I'd been doing this from a third-person perspective; I'm using first person in another RP on here and I've been doing it so long it's second nature. Are you happy with me using first-person or would you rather I switch back to third?))

Seeing Verrith flicker back into visibility, my blood ran cold. She hadn't said anything through the link about trying to counteract the strike and it looked like she could fall over at any moment. Then he showed up.

I didn't catch where he appeared from, one minute Verrith was alone, the next he was a few metres behind her, casually walking towards her, twirling that blade of his casually, as though this was just a walk through the park for him. I could see wounds where Verrith's scarabs had managed to bite into his flesh, but he seemed to be ignoring the pain as he practically swaggered towards her.

I felt a faint warmth in my hands and realised I'd clenched my fists so tightly that my claws were digging into my palms. I just wanted to go over there and pound the smug bastard's face into the ground. Jam my fingers into his eyes and tear his gods-damned head off for hurting Verrith like that!

But this was her fight and if I interfered then his friends would as well, they'd stop me and he'd walk off having won. I didn't want him to have the satisfaction of that, but it was all I could do not to go and help her.

"Well that wasn't as difficult as I expected, not easy, but not the real challenge I thought it'd be." He stopped right behind Verrith and I idly noticed Korana readying herself to teleport over and provide medical aid as soon as the fight was officially over (which was her call). It was agreed that this wouldn't be a fight to the death, but I wouldn't put it past the guy to have an 'accident' and kill her by 'mistake'. The win condition was a solid, debilitating strike - like a stab through the leg - and I could see that he was contemplating just where to put his blade.

"Anything you want to say before I end this? Or are you still reeling from that last hit?"

Verrith

I whimpered, my wings fluttering pathetically as he came closer. I waited for him to walk around me as he continued on about how weak I was, that I was just a little girl and a freak at that.

I looked up, tears on my face and as he gloated, I exploded into action. With the benefits of the True Strike, I hit where I aimed, sword entering his flesh at the junction of hip and thigh and traveling upward into his belly. I wretched it free viciously, splattering myself with blood and gore. My second blade cleaved into his chest with a fleshy thunk.

I tilted my head to one side at his wide eyed stare. "We're both bleeding, but if you don't give soon, you won't be breeding."

I disengaged and took a step back into a defensive stance, ready for what he would do next. From the way he stood, it was obvious the vicious poison from Toxic Weapon was having its way with him. Not to mention blood loss.

Holding the defensive stance was painful, aggravating the wound on my side that even my potion hadn't been able to heal.

To say I was relieved to see Verrith attack would be like saying the spell Time Stop is kind-of okay. A huge grin spread across my face and I pumped one fist into the air. Which was when I actually noticed what I'd done to them.

"Holy crap; I'm bleeding!" I said in a voice carefully modulated to best get the attention of nearby healers quickly and that only sound girly to those with untrained ears. No sooner were the words out of my mouth that I felt Korana slap a hand on my back and I felt the energy of a healing spell go into me.

"Not anymore." she said dryly before disappearing in a crack of displaced air, teleporting right beside the elf.

"Okay, I think this fight's over now. Sorry pal; but injuries like that mean she would've killed you if this was to the death." The elf's own healer finally reached them and started to work various healing spells, as well as one to counter the poison once he realised it was there.

"Ladies and gentlemen;" Korana said, her voice magically amplified for the benefit of the crowd, "your winner tonight by significant injury: Verrithanis Mijai!" The audience exploded with applause and I could barely hear myself think as I walked over to Verrith as Korana started patching her up. I got there in time to hear Korana mention that a lot of people had bet on her. Apparently blondie was a bit infamous as a narcissistic jerkwad and a lot of people came just in the hopes of seeing his smug face pounded into the ground.

"Nice fighting there, Verrith." I said, staying back a bit until Korana was done with her magic.

Verrith

I sighed happily as Korana began healing me and shot a rakish smile at Marcus. I shrugged at his comment.

"I won, but it wasn't a clean one," I said, not willing to give myself any slack. "I won through superior tactics and toys, not necessarily brute strength. But then, he never straight out attacked, it was always pop- BAM- pop."

After Korana finished I stretched, flexing my wings out completely in the process. It felt good to have all of the sensation back in them again. "That thing he did to my side, that was one of the most painful things I've ever experienced. Not as painful as shattering my wings but damn near."

I looked at the healer and bowed to her. "Thank you very much, Korana. What do I owe you? And can I buy you dinner on top of that?"

((Ugh, sorry for taking so long to reply; got caught up in a few other things and kept forgetting about literotica until late at night when my skill at writing is somewhere in the vicinity of epileptic-monkey-on-a-typewriter. :p ))

"Well I did say that Shadow Hand was an assassin's style; you ever known an assassin to do a straight-up fight?" I asked, glad to see her feeling better. "As for what he did to your side; it was Five-Shadow Creeping Ice Enervation Strike; utterly stupid name-" Blondie made a noise that was probably supposed to be "Hey" or something, but I guess the poison wasn't quite cleared from his system yet - "but probably one of the deadliest manoeuvres I've heard of. Seriously; when I saw you become visible there you scared the crap out of me."

"Hey; don't worry about payin' me back, Marcus already took care of that," Korana said with a smile, "Although I might take you up on that offer of dinner sometime."

"I still can't believe you remembered about those old books; even I forgot about them. Here you go, by the way." I pulled the books out of one of my older bags of holding (the only one I'd brought with me to the fight) and handed her a stack of five books. We found them a couple of years ago in the tower of this mad gnome wizard.

Turns out he was also a bit of a sex-nut and the books I handed over were collections of erotic short-stories. There were a few good ones in there too, but I hadn't read them in years and, well, the real thing is a lot better than reading a story about it.

Verrith

I got a glimpse of the titles on the books and, since my gnomish was limited to insults and smut, I understood a couple, enough to make me shake my head. I looked at Marcus with a sly grin.

"Collecting books on little men with big packages, huh?"

OOC: I honestly want the response to that before I write onward, I think it'll be amusing. Don't worry about delayed responses. I'm out of school until the second week of July, so can post fairly frequently but its not a huge "OMG POST NOW" issue.

"We found them in some crazy wizard's tower; I thought I'd be able to sell them for a bit."

"Yeah, and then ya started readin' 'em."

"Oh, and you're better for wanting them as payment for patching a friend of mine up?" She just gave me a cat-like grin that told me she didn't care about that.

Verrith

"Oh, you know you love the little ones," I said with a giggle.

Looking around us, people were arguing over and settling bets, recounting the match and pointing while whispering. "You'd think they'd never seen a disappearing, reappearing black-winged elf before."

I gave a sigh and asked, "So any more plans for today, tall, silver and studly? Hopefully away from the public eye?"

"Well if I remember right, our deal was that if you won then you'd get to decide how we spend the night. Any ideas, should I start trying to think of something?"

((OOC: Sorry for the short post, writer's block (either that or the winter weather's frozen my brain).))

Verrith

"Even with the healing, I still feel sore, perhaps a nice bath," I suggested with a raised eyebrow. "We shouldn't get any more challenges with mere bubbles for company, right?"

"Whoa, hey, wait a minute!" Korana suddenly exclaimed. "You actually have slept together?! And he didn't end up breaking any bones by mistake?!"

"Ugh. I keep telling you that someone with a lot of strength does not frequently break stuff by accident; that's just a trope used in comedy plays. It would only happen in real life if someone hit you with Bull's Strength without you realising it."

"Okay, okay! I was just saying. Still," she looked over at Verrith, "you're braver than I am."

"Let's just go." I spread my wings and took off; hovering until Verrith did likewise and we both lazily glided back to the Portal, landing straight onto our balcony. Well; she landed on the balcony, I tripped on the bottom of the doorway and went face-first into the floor.

"Damnit," I remarked as I hauled myself up, "why do I always do that?" For some reason I can never land in-front of open doorways; I always come in with too much speed and end up running forward and tripping on the doorway.

Verrith

I looked at Marcus, head tilted to the side and then back at the healer. "Um, no. He didn't get hurt at all. Why would he get hurt?"

She made a quip about me bring braver and I grinned slyly. "Braver? Mayhap that is so. But I must say, the benefits far outweigh any possible danger."

We flew back and I, used to landing in elven tree homes, had no problem with the balcony, but Marcus' misstep on his landing was comical. I laid a hand on his chest and smiled. "There are more important things to do right then landing."

I laughed as I wrapped my arms around her, not caring that she still had the breastplate on and kissed her, tapping my tail against the side of the tub and causing it to fill with warm water.

"And would one of those things involve helping a beautiful woman out of her armour?" I joked.

Verrith

I pulled back enough to run a hand down the contoured front of my breastplate. "I do need help getting it off, seeing as its all strappity. Oh, whoever shall I press," I emphasized the word by pressing certain parts of my body against his, "into helping me remove it."

I grinned as she pressed back up against me as I started to reach for the straps of her armour. "I would be happy to oblige," I said, before kissing and nibbling at her neck and starting to undo the straps while winding my tail around her thigh.

The breastplate was quickly out of the way (a nasty encounter with a druid and the spell heat metal had given me a pretty solid reason to learn how to undo armour straps quickly) and I started to kiss down her chest as I helped her take off her halter top. With it clear, I trailed my lips down between her breasts and over her stomach as I undid her belt and helped her remove her leggings and boots, working back up her body as she was left in her underwear.

I stood back up and kissed her again, my hands undoing her demi-corset while my tail slid in through one leg hole of her panties, across her ass, and out the other leg hole before pulling them down.

"Want anything in the bath with you?" I asked as I went back to kissing her neck.

Verrith

I smiled innocently, running my hand down his chest. "Well, we seem to be out of bathtub ducks and I get ever so lonely in the water."

What was supposed to be smooth and sly turned into a slip, fall and splash as I slid on my own clothing on the floor, pulling Marcus in after me. We surfaced and I sputtered water, pushing my hair out of my face.

"Sorry," I said, but my apology became less sincere as I found a benefit to how we were situated. I wiggled my hips, wrapping my legs around the half-dragon and pulling him closer. Pulling my face up to his, I kissed the startled expression away from his face. "You're much better then a bathtub duck."

((OOC: Gah, sorry for taking so long... again. Would've replied Sunday night but after spending the day watching a 40k tournament it was a bit hard to get into the right frame of mind.))

I smiled as she kissed me. Granted; it wasn't the neatest way to get us both into the tub, but I didn't mind (having a sexy elf practically wrapped around you tends to do that). "I should hope so," I replied.

I touched my amulet and willed my clothing away, hoping it wouldn't get anything else in the haversack wet as I shifted us to get a bit more comfortable, leaning myself back against the side of the tub with Verrith more or less sitting in my lap. As we kissed, my hands roamed across her back, lightly running my claws across her skin before giving her ass a squeeze and wrapping my tail around her thigh.

Verrith

(Its okay, don't worry about the delays. I randomly have a two-three month delays, so a few days is not that bad. I think this story works as well as it does because we're both pretty understanding of delays. Life happens.)

I writhed against Marcus, a smile curing my lips. I trailed my lips down his neck, biting and kissing, enjoying the texture and taste of his skin. I could feel the strength in his arms when he moved us, when I ran my hands, lips and teeth over them.

It was a powerful thing, to have a man of such strength beneath me holding me with such tender regard. I shivered under his hands, the movement tracing through my entire body.

"Much better," I managed to whisper before moaning.

I gently pulled her face back up to mine, kissing her and running my fingers through her hair (or at least as well as I could since it was wet).

My tail made its way to her back, lightly rubbing up and down her spine as my hands roamed her sides and I started to kiss down to her chest. The contrast of her soft skin and the hard muscle I could feel - if not see - underneath was amazing. I was tempted to start using my cold breath like I had last night, but knew that I'd just rob our bath of the nice, relaxing heat. Though from the heat between us, I wouldn't be surprised if I saw the bathwater starting to boil.

Verrith

What tension the heat of the water didn't melt away, the inferno he lit in me did. I slid a hand between us to stroke him as he kissed a line down my chest. I bit my lip, trying to concentrate on stroking him and not on his lips, his mouth, his hands and tail upon my flesh.

My grip around him tightened when my body did when he nipped at my nipple and I felt him shudder in return.

"Good," gasp, "thing," moan, "dragons are, OH, sturdy."

My shudders shook the water and I'm sure a good deal of it splashed out of the tub but I couldn't bring myself to care.

My moan was muffled by her breasts, which I continued to nip and suck at. The nip had been an accident, but reminded me that she was tougher than normal elves and judging by her reaction, I figured it'd be safe to do a lot more of it. My tail ran down her spine, through the crack of her backside until I could feel the heat of her womanhood.

Keeping an eye on her face to see her reaction, I started to slide the tip of my tail into her, slowly working it in and out of her in time with her strokes on my shaft.

Verrith

I moaned as he bit me, and downright whimpered when his tail entered me. There were, apparently, more then a few advantages to having a lover with a prehensile tail.

The lingering adrenaline from the fight still coursing through me, it was impossible to keep my hips from thrashing. Impossible to not bite the meaty part of Marcus' shoulders to keep others from hearing me.

I managed to find enough spare brain power to gasp out, "If you want to be inside as I, oh MY! As um... oh yeah, oh!... As I go, you should get in..."

I groaned as she bit down on my shoulder (while thanking the fact that her teeth weren't able to pierce my scales) and when she managed to speak, I wrapped my hands around her waist and lifted her into my lap, withdrawing my tail as I felt her line me up.

I kissed her, moaning into her mouth as I felt her liquid heat engulf me and started rubbing her back with my hands as she settled into my lap (I use the term 'settled' loosely here; she seemed that close that she wouldn't have been able to keep still even if she wanted to), lightly running my claws across her skin. I started to grind my hips against her, my tail playing across her backside as I started to kiss at her neck again.

OOC: Hey, sorry I haven't updated. Anything I write sounds trite or dollar-store romance silly.
Off to faire this weekend, will try to post a reply by Tuesday.
