Out of context, that is neither good nor bad. For people like Saddam it wasn't a good (or nice) thing that he believed in himself or his purpose - it would actually have been a good thing if he hadn't. With Bush, it would be a mixed bag.patient1 said:They believe in themselves, and their purpose.

George Bush makes people realise how stupid republicans are.

In short, for both men, the statement depends on and reflects the men and their purpose. I.E., you could say the say thing about Hitler and Ghandi.
Um dude, I am not a "liberal". Moreover, my statement was meant to point out the moral ambivalence of the original statement out of context to the man. While P1's statement was true, it was not saying "something nice" about Saddam or for that matter Bush. A lot of people believe in themselves and their purpose, and the world would be a lot better off if they didn't. OTOH, a lot of people don't believe in themselves and their purpose, rather choosing to believe in others and their purposes instead - and the world would be better off too if those people didn't (or rather did; believe in themselves and their purpose). It all depends on the person and their purpose.LordLucan74 said:A typical idiotic liberal who seeks moral equivalence that is JUST NOT THERE....Even the Labour PM of the UK (a Socialist) knows this.
