I saw the neatest thing today. It was a display of two swords. Both are made in the ancient Greek Style but one was made in Bronze while the other was made of Steel. Incredible. To say I want is being kind.

Was a weight difference displayed? That sounds like a very interesting comparison. I'd like to see something like that, and be able to handle both.

funny that Gerber doesn't make bronze knives.

Clever humans.

Seacat, now there is a case of the "old tool" not being up to snuff to the "new" technology. I bet they look cool though.

Oh they do look neat.

I wouldn't want to face a steel blade with a bronze one, but what the hell the bronze does look nice.

Then again there are different types of steel as well.

It probably looks something like this:

Somewhat difficult to wield... but considering that "words are weapons, sharper than knives..."* I suspect it could inflict a great deal of damage (to the sensitive parts ~ ego/pride).

Or just drop it on your enemy. :D

I've made knives (athames) from bronze--Some of it is so soft you could cut it with scissors. With modern metallurgy, it can be nearly as hard as steel.

It would be very cool to have a sword made from the modern stuff!

There are several websites that offer them.
