I used to be very much into Greek mythology growing up. One thing that fascinated me was the Satyrs. Those hairy little men who endlessly chased the beautiful nymphs. The god Apollo was said to have had many lovers, both male and female. One of them was a Satyr, who once competed against him in a musical contest. Dionysus, god of Wine, Mirth and Hedonism was also accompanied by nymphs and satyrs, and he regularly threw orgy-parties.

Has anybody written fiction featuring nymphs and satyrs ?

Nymphs, yes.

Satyrs, not that I've seen.

really ? too bad. what i loved about greeks was that they were very much "for" homosexuality and bisexuality. Legendary Achilles loved his fellow warrior Patrocles and he also cared for Deidamia, a Greek princess.
Hercules had many female lovers, among them Omphale, a queen, and Iole, a princess, and Deinera, a woman of great stature and power. He also loved Hylas, a charming young man. The god Apollo had many female lovers, among them nymphs and goddesses, but he also loved a manly youth named Hyacinthe. Satyrs intrigued me because they loved sex and they were so wild and untamed. They chased women all day. I'd love to be surrounded by horny satyrs, lol. I have to settle for regular human males, ( whom I love and deeply respect) but wild hairy little men have always fascinated.

Check out a book called "Eros in Pompeii" by Michael Grant. It's probably out of print, but you can buy it used online for under $20.

Pompeii was under the protection of two patrons, Priapus (god of male fertility)and Bacchus (god of wine). Fat lot of good it did them when Vesuvius blew, but they sure had fun up until then.

The book has many splendid photos of the murals and sculptures unearthed at Pompeii, including satyrs and nymphs, and text that explains the importance and history behind them.

Just a side note: In the Roman system, Bacchus was the young, studly god of wine. Silenus was the fat, middle-aged god of drunkenness -- he traditionally was shown riding on a donkey about half his size, as in Disney's Fantasia.

Are you wanting a roleplay? I'm curious. Personally, I would have loved to have lived back then or Roman times. Plenty of male and female slaves or lovers. Plenty of both. And maybe a wife for good measure. :D I have always had a high libido.

I am .. errr maybe was involved in a story called Eros and Venus
