Kansas City, Kansas
15 years later

Scott Churchill pulled into the drive of his 3 bedroom single floor ranch house in the middle of suburbanville surrounded by 900 hundred other ranch style homes of the exact same floorplan. The cookie cutter district, as the surburbanites liked to refer to this west side of the city as. As he killed his Mercury Sable and got out, he realized something was not quiet right. Looking at his watch, he looked up and down the street and realized that Micheal's truck was gone.

Michael and his brother Mark Chuchill were his two sons... well... step-sons that lived in the home with him and their mother and his wife Sara Churchill. Normally, the boys would drive home in one of their trucks from school or football practice and were almost always home before him. When they weren't home... were the days he usually had to go find out what kind of trouble they were getting into.

Scott walked into the house, setting his briefcase in it's customary and traditional location by the door, tossed his keys into the cup on the table near the door and then loosened his tie. He yelled out, "Mike! Mark! Anyone home?" There was silence. He glanced at his clock and realized that Sara would be arriving very soon and he knew that if her boys were not home soon... she was going to be pissed!

He walked towards kitchen and froze when he found a note sitting on the edge of the counter. He muttered, "Oh.... shit..." He walked to it and picked up the note and began to read....

'Dear mom and dad,

We both just want you to know first of all that we both love you very much. We have become strong and able men thanks to your raising. But the both of us agree that there something missing in our lives. We have to go to the coast. We talked with a navy recruiter and found out were were both too young to join. There is something about the sea that is calling us... we have to answer it.

Please don't be upset with us. We have each other to depend on and like the two of you have told us again and again, as long as we have each other's back... nothing and no one can stop us. We are going to try and pick up work with the Merchant Marines down in Mobile and if not them... there are cargo ships always hiring.

We love you very much and please mom... dad... don't worry about us. We are going to fulfill our destiny. We are going to live our lives to the fullest and we are going to make you both very proud of us. We love you!

Mike and Mark...'

He read over the letter a dozen times... not believing what he was reading. The boys had left the nest at 16... to seek a life at sea? He had known the boys always loved the ocean. When he took them on vacations to the coast, they never wanted to come home. It was always just the opposite with Sara though... she always couldn't get away from teh water fast enough.

Scott her his wife of 14 years pull into the drive and he dropped his head in resignation. It was going to be ugly... she was going to be mad... and he would be there to support... one way or the other...

Sara, fifteen years on.

Sara was singing along with Lady Gaga's 'Poker Face' which was blaring from the CD player, as she drove home. It was her ritual when she finished work, blowing off her frustrations from dealing with the public.

She was a Real Estate Agent, showing houses, often to people she knew had no intention of actually buying, still, she had to fall over herself to be personable, to smile, laugh politely at their jokes, and tolerate their never ending criticisms of each and every property. Everyone seemed to want something for nothing!

Still, she was always in good form by the time she got home. Life was good. Scott her husband of fourteen years was wonderful! She had really lucked out, and he was a great dad to the boys, Mike and Mark, treated them as his own, they were his, in every sense of the word. Their biological father had been killed before she gave birth to them..... and their conception had occurred when she had been captured by pirates, but that was something she had worked out in therapy, and put behind her.

She pulled into the driveway parking beside Scott's Mercury Sable, and noticed the boys pick ups were absent. As she got out of the car, she saw Scott standing in the door way, and she went over, smiling, to give him her usual kiss. Two steps away, she noticed the strain on his face.

"Oh God!! What's wrong?? Has something happened to the boys??"

Her heart seemed to miss a beat, and she searched his face.

"Scott, are the allright? Tell me, quick!"

They were a little on the wild side, and since they had started driving, she had been terrified of their being hurt in a crash. Was that was Scott was about to tell her?? Oh please let it just be that they were in trouble over something, that they were okay!!!

Dozens of different scenarios flashed through her head, as she waited for the other shoe to drop, for Scott to break the news to her.

Scott watched her approach and feel disheartened when her demeanor went from carefree and relaxed to tense and worried.

"Scott, are the allright? Tell me, quick!"

Scott sometimes hated himself for being so ... transparent to his wife. He was never good at hiding anything. He looked down at the concrete a moment and then dug into his pocket, withdrawing a letter which had been folded up carefully. He reached out and handed it to his wife.

With trembling hands, he watched her read it. Her expressions shifted from relief that the boys weren't dead... to anger and fear... and then... there was something else in her eyes... something he had never seen before... He thought he knew his wife so well... knew every inch of her magnificent body, every single facial expression she had ever given. He had dedicated his life to learning everything he could about his wife in order to give her what she needed.

He went to put his arm around her when he saw something else come from her face. This he had seen before... but only late at night when she dreamed. He remembered during the first 2 or 3 years of their marriage she would wake him up at night with these vivid and real. They weren't nightmares... from what he would consider a traditional nightmare... just dreams... real and vivid... about her past... and someone named Blackheart...

Scott had never asked her about those dreams... tried to forget about them... but if they were just dreams that meant nothing... why was he thinking about them at this exact moment?

The man pulled his wife into his arms as she started to cry... he said, "Come here Sara... come here... It's okay... boys will be boys and all..."

It was at that moment when she pulled away and glared at him that he realized he might had said the wrong thing...

As she read the note, her heart at first soared, as she had thought it would be much, much worse, but still, those wild boys had taken off, literally halfway across the country, to head to the shore, to catch a merchant marine vessle, or .... or God only know what awaited them!! How could the be so fucking foolhardy?!?!?!?!

Crying, she fell into Scott's arms, needing his strength, his support, and she struggled to cope with this dreadful news.

"Come here Sara... come here... It's okay... boys will be boys and all..."

She pushed away from him a glared.

"That's your answer for all their wild antics!! Boys will be boys!! They are children!! Lets not forget they are 16 years old!! I'd be freaking out if they were 18 or 20 doing something so goddamned irresponsible as this, but for fuck's sake, they are 16!! Lord only knows what monsters await them, and no, before you say it, they CANT take care of themselves!!!!!"

She pounded his chest, needing an outlet for her impotent fury, and poor Scott was the nearest.

"How could you? Only a couple of nights ago you were telling them about "manning up", about the need for them to be more grown up and to stand on their own two feet! That we wouldn't always be there to sort out everything for them, that they needed to decide on their life's direction! Look where that got us!!!!!"

She was seriously irate! She pushed away again.

"Look, we need to go get them, to bring them home before someone kidnaps them or something!!"

Scott was taken back by her anger and he said, "Sara... take it easy... I seriously doubt they left the town. Remember when they tried to run away to the ocean when they were 12? They got as far as Ms. Sanchez swimming pool..."

He knew that was not a great example but he had to do something to calm her down. He put his hands square on her shoulders and turned her to look at him, "Let them go for a few days. They will get tired... get bored... and come home. Besides... we still have a ace in our sleeve...

She looked at him in confusion. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his blackberry and said, "I have the GPS App set up on all 4 phones... Just in case of something like this..."

He watched her snag his phone and open the app. There were four blips... on the map... 2 located exactly where they stood... and the other two... were together... and on highway 55 about to head into Memphis...

Scott was stunned.... They were running! This was not just a hang out at a friends house... they were literally driving to the ocean... and what's more... Sara saw it... and instantly broke down crying again!

"Sara... take it easy... I seriously doubt they left the town. Remember when they tried to run away to the ocean when they were 12? They got as far as Ms. Sanchez swimming pool..."

She looked at Scott for a moment, and then sighed heavily.

"Baby, I'm sorry! I shouldn't take it out on you! I just get so frustrated with them! Forgive me? Please?"

She leaned up and kissed him, feeling really bad for having focussed her fury on him. Really, it was those two wild boys who she was mad at! This was typical of their antics, and they had stressed her out on many an occasion.

"Let them go for a few days. They will get tired... get bored... and come home. Besides... we still have a ace in our sleeve...

It took her a moment to recall the GPS app on their phones! She smiled, as he pulled out his blackberry.

"You're right! We should let them sweat it out a little, it would be a good lesson for them! And, as you say, they are probably hanging out with their friends!!"

She looked at the screen, now sure what she was seeing, but quite clearly there were two blips in one place, and the other two were way, way away!! She ran round beside him, grabbing his hand, and looking at the map right way up.

"Oh Fuck!! They're... they're coming into .... into Memphis!!"

She began to sob hard. She had feared this for years!! she had denied it, keeping the family as far away from the coast as they could get, she discouraged any and all interest, turning off the Discovery Channel if is was showing something about that sea. But, it seemed that the apple hadn't fallen far from the tree, and following in their father's footsteps, they seemed to be feeling the call of the sea!!

Scott pulled her into his arms, but she was inconsolable, crying hard.

"You ring them! You call them and demand they get back here immediately or we take their truck and sell it, and they can go back to cycling over to their buddies house!! Call them now!! They're more likely to do as you tell them!!"

"You ring them! You call them and demand they get back here immediately or we take their truck and sell it, and they can go back to cycling over to their buddies house!! Call them now!! They're more likely to do as you tell them!!"

Scott was shocked they were actually driving away! They had made GREAT time to be all the way down there.... It impressed him. They must have left out first light this morning rather than waiting till after school!

He put the reciever up to his ear after dialing Mark's number. It rang four times and went to voice mail. He tried again with Mike's phone and as he expected the result was the same. He looked to Sara and said, "They aren't answering..."

Scott watched Sara start to break down crying and he turned and pulled her into his arms and said, "Tell you what... The letter said something about Mobile... right?"
She read the letter again and then nodded as he said, "Okay... here is what we will do. First light, we get you a flight there. You can rent a car and track them on GPS. When they get there... you can personally kick their asses all the way back up here...."

He could see that she was getting into the idea and he smiled and said, "I would go with you but I got that trip tomorrow that I can't miss. Do you think you can handle it?"

She gave a nod and he said, "Okay then... let's go get you a ticket..."

Sara threw a few essentials into a grip - jeans, a few t shirts, spare bra and a couple of pairs of panties, one pair of boots, her washbag, and a fleece. That was it.

She hardly slept a wink all night, thinking about her babies, alone and vulnerable. Okay, they were big, strong, strapping young fellas, as big as many men already, but Christ, they were only sixteen.

She clung to Scott, drawing strength from him, believing his reassurances that every thing was going to be alright!!

Early next morning they went together to the airport, and she clung to him, kissing him hard before they parted to catch separate flights - hers to Alabama, and his to Chicago.

She seemed to have to wait for ages going through security, and down to her departure gate, waiting for the boarding call. She had only hand luggage, and she quickly took her seat, stowed her luggage, and fastened her seat belt.

She found the flight seemed to take a whole lot longer that she had anticipated, yet when she checked her watch, she saw they touched down almost a quarter of an hour ahead of schedule.

She went through security and out to hire a car, selecting a Dodge Ram, and driving down toward the docks, keeping an eye out for the boys. Checking the GPS locator for them, and heading to toward it.

Mike and Mark, by the time they arrived in Mobile, had found themselves in the commercial district of the bay and scouring for work. As it turned out, the second boat that encountered as the 'Lady Luck', a small cargo ship which was heading to the Grand Bahama Island within the hour. The boys met with Captain John McGraffey and as it happened to be that he had just fired two of his men for thievery, he opted to give them a cherry buster cruise to the island and back.. they would be out about 8 hours... spend 8 hours in harbor... and 8 hours back...

The boys barked the truck in the warehouse parking area, stuffed their phones on their packs, grabbed their duffles and made their way to the ship... getting on board just before it launched.

As they got on the boat, Mike looked up and saw a huge 747 coming in for a landing from sea and smiled. He said, "This is going to be fun Mark..."

What they didn't know at the time... was that on that 747, sitting in the middle of coach was a very nervous and scared woman named Sara... and she was coming to the rescue...

:: TARA ::

"The boys did what? Oh shit..." Tara said from her mobile home park on the west side of Mobile. She said, "I was afraid of this..."

"Listen... call your sister. She needs you... now more than ever..." Scott pleaded.

"I... I ... well she and I aren't exactly talking right now... you know how things went Scott..." Tara said as she glanced around her 2 bedroom mobile home. They place could have been called a dump... if it were not to insult dumps everywhere.

"Sara needs you. Get off your ass, call her, and help her. You might be surprised how much you need each other..." Scott said with a dominating tone.

"Yes... sir..." Tara whispered, feeling a surge of submissiveness rush through her... an aftereffect from her time out in sea.

Scott was not sure why, but when he got his tough tone out, she did anything he asked of her. He said, "Thank you... Good luck..."

He hung up... and Tara looked at the address book on her cell and dialed in a number... After a couple of rings she said, "Hi... Sara... it's me... Tara..."

Her phone rang, and she pulled over in order to answer it, not recognising the number.

"Hi... Sara... it's me... Tara..."

Whoever she had been expecting on the phone it was NOT her estranged twin!

"T..Tara? Is that really you?"
Of course, she knew it was, she recognised the voice she knew as well as her own. "What do you want?" There was usually only one reason why Tara called, and it involved money, Tara's need for it!

Tara had hit drugs in a big way, in her attempt to cope with their abduction, and had run through countless men, each more of a loser than the last. She had been clean for the past five years, and that was to be commended, but she had lost her kid, lost her home, lost pretty much everything, including her relationship with her sister in the intervening period.

"Tara, I don't mean to be rude, but I have things going on right now, important stuff, I really don't have time for your crap, right now!"

Sara heard the hurt gasp from the other end of the phone, and was taken aback when Tara spoke next, expecting the usual flurry of justifications for all Tara's woes!

"I know about the boys, Sara, Scott called me. I want to help!"

Tara wanted to do something for someone other than herself?? Sara could barely believe it, but, after only a moments hesitation, she accepted the offer of help, hoping she was doing the right thing. It would be good for Tara to be useful, to contribute, rather than to drain.

"Give me your address, I'll be there in a little bit!"

******************************************

Sara gasped when she saw where her sister was living. Jesus.... it was a trailer park, and not even a halfway decent one, at that! She found the right place, and knocked on the door, and Tara came straight out, and hugged her slightly surprised sister.

Tara looked like her still, but she looked more like an older sister, than a twin, the evidence of her hard living having taken its toll on her. She had several tattoos, some of which were not very well done, and some of which were badly placed, including one on her neck. She had cut her hair really short, and Sara was surprised by her appearance.

"They took off Tara, they said they felt a need to get to the sea....... I'm ..... I'm so scared!!!"

:: TARA ::

"They took off Tara, they said they felt a need to get to the sea....... I'm ..... I'm so scared!!!"

The rehabilitating twin gave her sister a massive hug and said, "I... I was afraid this would happen. I... I am sorry..." She walked to the table, picked up a small silver flask and turned to her. She offered her a drink and said, "Here... this will help calm the nerves..."

She watched Sara take the flask... then walk to the sink, cringe as she saw a cockroach walk through the silver sink and poured out the contents. Tara went to lift her hand to demand to know what she doing but fell silent once she saw the glare from Sara.

Tara grew timid once again... looking to the floor... feeling ashamed... again. Sara had always looked shamefully at Tara and how she had handled her imprisonment on the pirate ship all those years ago. Sara had opted to take a different path. She had opted to run to the furthest place she could go from the sea and just pretend things didn't happen. Tara had understood her need to run... and for a years, she hated Sara for it. Tara had felt abandoned by her own sister when she ran off... leaving Tara to survive on her own means.

She said, "I... I am sorry. I was only trying to help..."

:: MIKE AND MARK ::

Captain John McGraffey stood in the bridge of his ship when Mike and Mark walked in and he turned and looked at them. He was a portly man in his mid forties, full beard with the elegant silver streaks running down either side of the mouth. He sported a pipe in his lips with a wisp of smoke floating just above it. He said, "So... these are my two new crewmen..."

"Aye." First Mate Pierre Sinclaire said from the other side of the Captain. He turned and looked at the boys. He was darker skinned, french, bald, thin, muscular, and sported a small scar along his neck. He said, "I put them in Cabin 6. They are ready to work... right boys?"

"Yes sir!!!" Mike said barely containing his excitement..

"You bet!" Mark popped off happily...

"Good. See that deck over there... there is a closet with mops and buckets on the main deck. Go swab it down..." Pierre said.

THey both looked a little disappointed but nodded and turned and headed out.

After the boys were gone, he said, "What do you think, Captain?"

"I think they will fetch a pretty penny. Contact the SS Pigmy... let them know that we have a couple of packages to deliver..."

Pierre nodded and left the bridge...

Sara tried her damnedest to suppress her disgust for the way Tara lived, or at the very least, to conceal it. She was in this grotty trailer park, and her own trailer was while not exactly filthy, it was far from clean.

Hard living was etched on Tara's face, and there was no trace of the privileged girl she once was! Offering hard liquor this time of day was not winning her any thanks either! Christ, she was a lush! One step away from living on the streets. Okay, that was unfair, but as Sara poured the alcohol down the sink, she knew that her sister was at least vulnerable to living on the streets.

She liked to think she wouldn't allow that to happen, but in truth, she was sick to death of Tara's "not being able to cope". Had Sara herself not gone through the very same experience?? She hadn't turned to drugs, alcolol, and a string of bums and losers to dull her pain! She had had a couple of months of therapy, then she had picked herself up, dusted herself off, and gone as far inland as she could get, and she had built a nice life for herself and her sons.

Tara hadn't even managed to be a mother!! Something that Nature had programmed her to do!! No, Tara's daughter had been taken into care on several occasions, before she had taken off to God only knew where!!

Sara was getting annoyed, and, for now at least, she could not afford to waste any of her time and attention on Tara's many woes. She had more pressing needs.

She took out her phone, checking the GPS, gasping when she saw the blips out in the harbour.

"Look, if you want to help, come on now! I don't have time for your shit Tara, this isn't about you, if you want to help, lets go!!"

She started the truck, and reversed around, before Tara had the time to get in. Tara looked at her, half expecting her twin to peel out of there, but in the moment that Sara hesitated, Tara climbed in, and started to give directions to the docks.

By the time they reached there, the two blips on the GPS were well out in the bay. She went to the harbour master's office, and asked about the vessels out at the mouth of the harbour, one was "The Lady Luck" en route to Grand Caymen, the other was "Undaunted" en route to Rio de Janiro.

Sara turned to her sister, "Oh God! Please let them be on "the Lady Luck""

"Ma'am... I don't know which ship they went onto. I don't hire the crew... I just ensure the cargo is loaded." The harbor master said with regret as he saw the immense disappointment in her eyes. He then added, "I did see two boys park a truck over there though... I think they got on the Fierce Wind... but ... that ship is already heading out of port. I can't stop it now."

Tara put a hand on Sara and said, "Now what are we going to do, Sara?"

The Harbor Master said, "I know the Captain of the Fierce Wind. He is a nice enough guy... your boys should be safe...."

Tara could see the glare shot from Sara to the harbor Master and backed up a moment, "Is there a way we can get in touch with the Lady Luck? Perhaps see for sure if they are there?"

"Umm... yeah... yeah no problem... " He pulled out a radio and said, "This is harbor Master 215 contacting Lady Luck... please respond."

"This is the Captain of the Fierce Wind. Did we forget something, Charles?" The man said with a hearty chuckle...

"Um... no sir. Did you pick up a couple of fresh hires while in dock today? We have someone here at the dock who is trying to find them." Charles asked.

"No... I don't think so..." The Captain lied... He said, "Let me check with first mate..." The comm went off a second... then came back on, "No... neither of us hired anyone... but that does not mean they could have stowed away. Give me an hour to search my ship and will get back with you."

:: MIKE AND MARK ::

Sitting in the main deck, they both realized something interesting... neither of their phones were getting a signal anymore. Mike looked to one of the men and said, "Is this normal? No signal?"

"Aye... happens almost immediately after going out to water... no towers out here..."

"Damn" Mark said. "Well... guess we are on our own now...."

:: An hour later ::

"Charles, this is the Lady Luck... we searched the entire ship... didn't find a soul... but we will keep you posted if we come across them."

"Roger that. Thanks..." Charles said to the now weeping Sara. He said, "Ma'am... there is the Undaunted... but... I know that guy... and I don't like him at all..."

It took everything in her not to collapse on the docks. Her boys were gone, and it looked like they had gone on the Undaunted, with a not so scrupulous captain, heading off to South America, and she knew the array of dangers that could face them there!!

She sucked in a breath, as she tried to absorb what she had just heard.

"My boys are on that ship!! I must go after them! Tell me, is it possible to charter a vessel?? So that I can go after them??"

The harbour master checked his log. No other vessels were due to sail, and there wasn't much more until the tide turned.

"Please, look I have to get to my boys, they're only kids!! Would you please see if you can find someone who might be willing to take me after them?"

She looked up at him, tears in her eyes, faint hope shining there.

"Look, I'm staying at the holiday inn, here's my cell number, will you please, please find me someone who'd be willing to take me to fetch those boys home"

She went back to her car, looked at Tara, who had sympathy all over her face. Sara kept checking the GPS, hoping to see a blip indicating where the boys were, but it was gone dead! Oh God, NO no no no no no!! The signal had ceased to operate! That was better!! She did not want to even think the word 'dead', terrified that something dreadful had happened to them.

She rang Scott.

"They're on a ship, heading to South America!! I'm trying to get on something to go after them, hopefully something smaller and faster, so that I can catch up with the Undaunted..... but.. oh God, some people here suggested that the captain on that ship was very dodgy!"

She began to cry, worry overpowering her! She sobbed out all her worries to Scott, and let him offer her some solace.

Scott had never felt as helpless as he did right then. He spent most of the night trying his best to calm her down... let her know she was okay... and the boys would be fine... they have each other and that is all they need...

Ultimately, it would be exhaustion that brings down Sara... at 3AM... only to wake at 6AM to a phone call.

"Is this Sara Churchill? My name is Captain Paul Higgins... Captain of the Lucky Lady. I understand you are in need of a charter? I might be able to help you out..." The man said as he began to talk a bit about his boat, his crew, his armament, his auxiliary craft, everything...

He said, "If you are interested, I can charter to you... for 15,000 a day... I know it seems steep in price... but for the nature of your mission... we aren't exactly shrimpers you know... so ... what do you say?"

He waited for her response.... then said, "Good... Meet me in an hour on pier 37. The ship will be ready by then. Bring the money with you..."

Sara spent the night crying on Scott's shoulder.... well, over the phone!! She slipped into an exhausted sleep, devastated by the loss of her boys. The shrill ringing of her cell phone woke her from horrible dreams, flashbacks from what had happened when Blackheart and his crew had captured her and Tara.

She grabbed her phone.

"Hello?"

"Is this Sara Churchill? My name is Captain Paul Higgins... Captain of the Lucky Lady. I understand you are in need of a charter? I might be able to help you out..."

She sat up, now wide awake.

"Yes, Oh hello! Thank you!! Yes, I need a charter! My boys are on a ship, I need to get them back!! Will you help me? Please??!"

"If you are interested, I can charter to you... for 15,000 a day... I know it seems steep in price... but for the nature of your mission... we aren't exactly shrimpers you know... so ... what do you say?"

She sucked in a breath. $15,000 a day! Christ!! It would deplete their savings, make a huge dent in the college fund for the boys, but yeah, she could find it.

"Yes, I can get that. I have thirty in cash, I'll give you that, with the remainder paid on successful completion. I can radio my husband to transfer the cash to your account after that. Agreed??"

She wasn't stupid. There was no way she was handing over all her cash up front. Her earlier experience of the men of the sea had taught her a harsh lesson, and she had no intention of being thrown overboard, and her money pocketed. This way they would have to return her safe and sound.

Jesus, Scott would have a heart attack when he heard 15,000 a day!!! she was calculating quickly - they could fund 3 weeks, that would wipe out all they had!! She was going to kill the boys when she got her hands on them!!

"Good... Meet me in an hour on pier 37. The ship will be ready by then. Bring the money with you..."

Sara was still saying "thank you and see you then" when she realised she was talking into a dead phone line, the captain was gone!

She dressed hurriedly, and checked out and drove to the docks. It was creepy down here this hour of the morning, and there seemed to be an unusually large number or weirdo and undesirables around the place. She texted Scott:

<<I've chartered a ship to chase down the boys - the lucky lady, the captain - Peter something, sounded very good. I've paid $30k down, and the rest when we return! Hope to be back soon, with the boys! Luv ya xxxx S>>

She grabbed her bag, and strode toward the ship moored at pier 37. Paul, his name was Paul, not Peter!! She looked at the ship, The Lady Luck, not the lucky lady! Jeez, did she get any of it right. She'd text Scott again when she was on board. Her heart hammered as she crossed the gang plank, and so many memories assaulted her. Memories she had carefully repressed, folded up into a little part of her, and shoved down deep inside, never to see the light of day!! It was hard looking at the boys, how they resembled their father, but she did all she did to make them as different as she could. Tight, almost military hair cuts, instead of his longish hair, curling around his collar. They didn't have his sun weathered skin, as she had always tried to keep them slathered in factor 50, but they had changed that as they got older, and were often using only a factor 10, their skin becoming deeply tanned, enhancing the resemblance of which they were unaware!

She looked up, Paul was standing on the other side of the gangplank, his hand outstretched toward her.

She blushed, certain that she must look ridiculous. She sucked it up, and completed the crossing and stood once more, on the deck of a ship.

"Hi, Sara Churchill. Pleased to meet you!"

She was still holding his hand, from crossing the gangplank, and she shook it now, smiling as she made her introduction. He looked pretty normal and she relaxed a little.

Captain Paul Higgins smiled warmly and helped her and her sister onto the ship, offering them a cabin with a set of bunk beds towards the hull of the ship. It was not the best of arrangements by any means... the facility was small and cramped, but it would do for the time. Once they were settled, Paul collected the initial 30,000 and said, "You know... I am going to be honest here. I have two boys of my own... both of mine are sailors like their old man..."

He looked down at the two ladies and said, "I am going to make your charter $7500 a day... That should double your time to search for them at least... I ... I hope you don't mind."

He was met with a hug from Sara and a tender thank from Tara. He smiled, feeling good about these two... He turned and took them to the bridge.

"The ship is ready to depart sir!" First Mate Roy Marcus said from the helm as the Captain and his two charters...

"Good deal... the ship we are looking for is the ..." Paul turned to Sara and listened to her tell the Captain the ship name. They pulled a copy of their manifest from the network and said, "They are a day out... but a big ship like that... we should catch up to it in a day... The catch is going to be getting on it."

Captain Higgins turned to the ladies and said, "With your go ahead... we will begin." Sara seemed only too eager to nod and the ship was soon on their way out of port. The Captain said, "You have a day to spend now... Feel free to look around the ship or get some chow... or return to your quarters if you wish. This ship is at your command now. I must ask you to remain off the bottom decks and the armories on the ship for your own safety."

As they talked, there was a third man in the crew of 4 on the bridge that looked at the two women and realized there was something amazingly familiar with them. Where had he seen them? Why did they seem so familiar to him? It was when Tara turned and glanced at him with a flirty smile, did he suddenly begin to realize that he did in fact know them... but... from where? and how? who were these ladies?

"You know... I am going to be honest here. I have two boys of my own... both of mine are sailors like their old man..."

"I am going to make your charter $7500 a day... That should double your time to search for them at least... I ... I hope you don't mind."

Sara gasped, and burst into tears, throwing herself at Paul, and hugging him.

"Thank you! Oh thank you so much! I really, really appreciate this!"

Tara thanked him too, knowing how much it meant to her sister.

They looked at the cabin, it was miniscule, built in bunk beds, integrated lights, a small area for hanging clothes, and a couple of shelves. Still, it was functional, and it would do just fine. If it was going to help her get her boys, Sara would have been more than happy to sleep on deck, so the cabin was a huge bonus.

They went up on deck, and looked about, and Sara knew she couldn't have made a better choice. This ship was in prime condition, and the bridge was impressive, with lots of hi tec looking buttons and dials, and displays.

She took Tara's hand and squeezed it, glad that her sister was here, needing the emotional support.

"Remind me to text Scott soon, and tell him the name of the ship!! And the good news, that Paul will do it for half price!! I'm cashing in the boys college fund, but its worth every cent to get them back safe and sound!"

She was quiet for a moment, and she bit her lip.

"Tara....... I know we've had our differences, but.... thank you for being here for me! I'm not sure I could face going out to sea alone, and no one else knows just how hard this is for me.... and why!"

Tara hugged her sister, and whispered reassurances.

"That's what family is for!"

They went and stood in the bow, and looked around. There were more of the crew on board now, and one man in particular looked over, and seemed to stare. God, maybe he was one of those misogynistic men, who didn't want to see women anywhere, except barefoot, pregnant and tied to the kitchen sink. Tara on the other hand winked and smiled at him. Sara stiffened. Jesus, hopefully Tara wasn't going to work her way through the crew before they even gout out of port!!

He gave Sara the creeps, and she thought there was something familiar about him, and she felt the hair on the back of her neck stand, but she cautioned herself that she was being paranoid.

It would be late in the evening before anything new would happen. The ship spent most of the day simply working to catch up to the Undaunted. While Sara was off doing her thing, Tara spent the day learning about the crew... about the people and who they were. Most of the men were just single sailors and warriors who had either no family or perhaps just a girlfriend somewhere... Only the Captain was married and from she gathered it was strained at best.

Tara got particularly friendly with a man about her own age, mid thirties. Carter was his name and he seemed to have a particular interest in both Tara and Sara. She caught him in the back of the ship cleaning a beretta when she struck up conversation with him. After a few hours, Tara found herself in his arms, swoon by this particularly handsome gentlemen.

:: CARTER ::

Carter had Tara pinned against the railing, right leg hooked in his arm, his cock burning inside her while his left hand had her hair in his grip, forcing her head back! HE bit his own lip as he exploded inside this little whore and could feel her clenching on his own cock struggling to keep her screams as silent as possible.

Once he was done with her, he looked down to her breasts, unbuttoning her blouse and tearing her breasts out of her bra! He leaned in and licked and lapped the left nipple and went to teh right one... pausing a moment. She sported a brand on her right breast... just above her right nipple. It had two letter mixed together. BH.

He forced her to look at him and stopped. He knew who she was... which meant... that twin sister bitch was there too. Blackheart's twin cunts.

"What? What is wrong...?" Tara whispered...

"Nothing. Just an interesting... brand..." Carter said.

Tara instantly recoiled... closing her shirt and dropping her leg. She said, "I got it in Omaha a few years back. It means Big Heart... I had it dedicated to this asshole who dumped me like a week later." Tara had used this as her cover story for years... but something told her that he was not buying it.

"Of course. It is not often you see a brand..." Carter said as he zipped up.

Tara turned and gave him a playful kiss as she lowered her skirt and pushed her breasts back into her bra. She gave him a hesitant and yet playful kiss and then said, "Perhaps I will let you see more of it... later..." She had to get out of there.

Carter smiled and watched Tara turn and leave. He smiled and said, "Of course..." Once she was out of view... he reached to his satellite phone, which he kept on him at all times and dialed a number. "Hey... yeah... it's me. You will never guess who I just ran into..."

Sara was dozing, well, really she was trying to cope mentally with being out at sea again, her mind running back to that time on Blackheart's ship, a time she had totally repressed.

This was totally different - it would be just a couple of days, and then she'd have her boys back! Safe and sound, where they belonged, and they could drive home in convoy, and she could mollycoddle her boys, safe and sound, while she cuddled in Scott's arms!

Still, despite her best efforts, she felt horrible being at sea again. She had read her book, one she had read before, a Patrica Cornwall. It had sufficient detail that she had to concentrate on it, and that helped take her mind off of her current predicament.

Tara came back into the small cabin, looking a little flushed, and she sat down on the lower bunk. It took a minute, but then Sara got it, the whiff of sex.

"Christ, Tara, you stink of spunk!! I can't fucking believe you!! I thought you were here for me, for emotional support!! I should have know you couldn't control yourself!! We're not six hours out of port for Christ's sake!! Can you exist without a constant stream of guys between your legs???! Be a little discerning, for once in you life!"

She was fuming, and was struggling to keep her voice down, hissing at her twin, and hoping she couldn't be heart through the thin walls of the tiny cabin.

"For fuck's sake Tara, keep you Goddamned legs closed for the rest of the trip, and you can fuck all you want when you get ashore, just dont complicate things here!!"

Sara ground her teeth, disgusted with her sister. What could possible make this worse? Tara's insatiable and apparently uncontrollable lusts were all she fucking needed now, when she was at her wit's end, worrying about her boys.

She turned her back, and ignored Tara's apologies, her excuses, all of which she had heard a hundred times before. She pulled out her phone, and thought she'd text Scott. He'd understand! He knew how difficult her twin could be, God knows they had tried to help her often enough! To her dismay, she discovered she had no signal. Frustrated, and angry, she threw her phone against the cabin wall!

:: TARA ::

Clearly upset from her sister's scolding her... but mostly because she was right. Tara was a slut and always had been... ever since Blackheart. She broke down crying right in front of her sister... then turned and raced off... leaving Sara alone in the cabin.

She almost immediately ran into Carter, who was back to cleaning his weapon and he said, "What is wrong? Are you okay?"

"Just... just leave me alone. I shouldn't have done what I ... what I did with you..." She turned to walk away when Carter grabbed her wrist!!

He pulled the little woman back towards him and pinned her arms to her side! She started to give a scream when he pressed the gun to her temple and pulled back the hammer. He said, "Listen here little girl. I know exactly who you are. You and your slut sister of yours."

Tara's eyes went wide!!! She was horrified!!! Did he really know who she was? Did she really endanger them needlessly? Why had she been so stupid!!!

Carter smiled and said, "Yes... you know what I mean... Blackheart!"

Tara fell apart... sobbing furiously!!! She had endangered everyone!!! Carter whispered, "I was on that ship... and I did get the pleasure of you before... you slut... I remember how you begged and pleaded to cum... to beg for release... and constantly denied..."

He glanced around the area where the two of them were and ensure no one was listening... He looked at her and leaned to her ear and said, "You will tell no one about what I know. If you do... I am afraid something terrible will happen to you... and your sister... Do you understand me?"

Tara nodded and Carter said, "Good... now get on your knees whore... suck my dick..."

Tara didn't even think twice as she did as he commanded of her...

He put his pistol away... and simply took control of this weak woman... it was so easy to do...

Sara remained pretty much in her cabin for the next ten hours or so. She was still livid with her sister, and had cried her eyes out, disgusted at what her twin had become. She had honesty thought, well, hoped at least, that Tara was genuine in wanting to turn a new leaf in their relationship, and while nothing could undo the hurt in their past, perhaps they could being anew. They were older, more mature, and the event that had changed them irrevocably was now more than fifteen years behind them.

And yet, within hours of setting out, Tara's "quick walk on deck" had turned into Tara's short, fast ride, with pretty much any available dick!! It wasn't like she had met the love of her life here, twenty minutes out of port!!

Sara was also really frustrated that she couldn't contact Scott. He was her anchor at times like these, and he always seemed to be able to talk her down, when she flew off the handle at her twin. He reminded her of what was important.

Instead, she was here on this little ship, knowing no one really, except for Tara, and really, how well did they know each other any more. They were estranged at best! The captain, he seemed nice enough, but she was paying him to take her to get her boys, not to entertain her, or dance attendance on her!

She had played all the games on her phone, until she was totally bored. Monkey ball had driven her insane, as the movement of the vessel made the damn monkey go overboard every time! She gone through all the high tech, strategic assault games, and then the low tech pac man, and was back to solitare, which was frustrating the hell out of her.

The battery was almost flat, so she plugged it in to charge, and went out for a walk on deck. She was getting cabin fever in there!! Besides, she normally ran four miles a day, and swam for an hour three times a week, so she needed to at least stretch her legs.

She climbed to the deck, and then up to the bridge, and smiled at the captain.

"Hi, sorry to disturb you, I just wondered if there was any news, was it possible to radio the ship, and see if the boys were aboard? When do you hope to be within sight of the ship? Are we making good time?" She smiled, and lowered her head. "I'm sorry, I really don't mean to be so.... so pushy! I'm just a mom whose worried about her boys! I know you understand! Look, I'll leave you in peace... and, will you let me know if you hear anything?"

With that, Sara went back to the deck, and walked around, going full laps from bow to stern, watching how fast they cut through the water. It was much choppier up here, and while she had never really had a problem with motion sickness, it made her queasy to stand in the bow. She watched as the sun set, and the moon rose, and she watched, mesmerised as the full moon danced on the dark abyss of the sea.

She turned, and came face to face with Tara, who looked absolutely awful, and suddenly Sara felt dreadful for her condemnation. Who was she to judge? She had been so lucky! She had met Scott, the most wonderful, supportive and understanding of men, while Tara had met a string of losers!! Really, if she hadn't met Scott, perhaps her life would have been a mirror of her sisters. Seeing Tara so utterly..... broken looking, stabbed at Sara's heart and her conscience.

"Oh Jesus Tara, I'm so, so very sorry for what I said. Please, forgive me! I shouldn't be so judgemental!! What you do, is no one's business but your own, and what I said, it was cruel and mean spirited, and I wish I could take it back."

She embraced her sister, and kissed her cheek.

"Despite all the evidence to the contrary, I really do appreciate you being here for me Sis, really, I do! I... I was thinking, we cant change what's happened between us for the past number of years, but, perhaps we could start again... what do you say?"

Sara smiled, and was rewarded with Tara's tentative smile, before she began to cry hard, throwing herself into her sister's arms.

Jesus, I have devestated her! My thoughtless words have cut her to the quick, but I'll make it up to her. This whole thing, this... this adventure to recover the boys might be a blessing in disguise! If nothing else, I will commit to a new relationship with Tara. Christ, as we were, I'd just be some stranger being informed by the police that she had overdosed, or been beaten to death by some bum. This is my chance to better things between us, and it'll give me something to occupy myself, while we're waiting on the boys. I'll help her get her life together, to get out of that depressing trailer park!

Sara's thoughts were running through her head, and she rubbed her sister's back, trying to impart some comfort, and to ease the sting from her earlier words.

Tara was terrified! She was on the verge of an utter mental collapse! Carter knew who she and Sara were and their was nothing she could say about it! She knew they were screwed and yet... she couldn't stop it...

She curled into Sara's arms and felt her being led back into the cabin. Sara laid Tara down on the bed and then seeing how physically upset she was, laid down next to her sister, curling into her, running her fingers through her hair and whispering soft apologies to her.

Tara was the one who needed to apologize but the words just couldn't get out. What would Carter do if Tara spilled the beans? Who else knew? Who could she trust? She couldn't tell Sara to go cancel the charter because she needed her boys back so badly...

Tara lost track of time... falling asleep in Sara's arms.

"Wake up sis! They found them..." Sara said at sometime later on... She got up and wiped the eyejam from her eyes then stood up. Sara was already gone by the time Tara was finally awake enough to move around.

By the time she reached the bridge, she could see the ship was pulling up along side a massive cargo ship. Tara said, "What is going on Sara?"

The Captain was on the radio... "This is the Lucky Lady trying to reach the Undaunted Captain. Sir... may we have permission to come on board?"

"What is this about Captain?" a voice came from teh other side. It was very annoyed.

"Captain, we are here looking for a pair of young men who might have either been hired onto your crew... or possibly stowed away... We have their mother here and she is eager to get them home."

"Stand by Captain..." the voice said....

After several long minutes, the voice returned, "We didn't hire any new crew. But that does not mean they didn't stow away. You can come on board and help us search the ship... but leave your weapons on your ship. We know what kind of ship and crew you have..."

The Captain rolled his eyes and said, "Fair enough... We are pulling up alongside you now..."

Sara had been asleep in just a tee shirt and panties, when the knock on the door had come. She quickly pulled on her jeans, and tucked in her tee shirt, not having time to pull on a bra, and she opened the door, to hear that they had hailed the Undaunted.

Excited, she woke up Tara, and the two of them, hoping for good news, ran up on deck. Some of the crew were crossing onto Undaunted. It looked dangerous, climbing down the ladder into the little launch, and going the short distance to tie up against the side of the enormous ship, and climbing the chain link ladder up the side.

Sara was determined to help find her boys.

"I'm going! I'm going to search too!"

"Me too!" Tara chimed in, thinking that she could help her sister, and perhaps they would be back ashore, before anything dreadful could befall them.

Captain Higgins began to shake his head.

"No Ma'am, I can't allow that! Its far to dangerous to climb down this ship, but to attempt that climb, from the launch up to the deck of Undaunted, that is much, much higher than it looks, and much more difficult than climbing on a regular ladder!"

"My boys might be on board! I'm going and that's that!"

Sara wasn't for turning on this, and Tara smiled at the captain.

"My sister knows what she wants and nothing will prevent her from rescuing her boys! You might as well capitulate gracefully, you wont win!"

With that, both women began to climb down the ladder, and into the launch, and then began the long, hard, dizzying climb up the side of the Undaunted.

Tara and Sara made it to the Undaunted and met with the Captain Lucius Del Rio who was a tall and lanky man who sported an unkept beard and thick mangy hair, wore a BP hat, jeans, boots, and a semi-dirty button down plaid shirt. Along side him, was his first mate and a handful of other crewmen. When the crew of the Lucky Lady climbed up the two Captain's shook hands.

Carter made it up onto the Undaunted as well and stood in the background and watched, only catching Tara's eye from time to time. The two Captain's spoke a thick Spanish for a few minutes before Lucius turned and said, "Ms. Sara, as I told you on the radio, I did not hire any new crew. However, that does not mean they did not stow away. Come with me... I will split the crew up and start searching..."

The search took nearly an hour with Sara and Tara both remaining close to Del Rio's side the entire time, going down into the bowels of the ship, finding nothing and no one. After nearly an hour, there was a chirp on Del Rio's phone and he picked up and said, "Yes... yes... you did? They are? We are on our way up..."

He turned towards Sara, but found her already heading back up towards the upper deck. He and Tara took chase to keep up with the needy mother. They reached the upper deck and the Captain said, "We need to go to the bridge."

They took the stairs all the way up to the top of the ship. However, on their way up, neither woman seemed to notice something was terribly wrong... The Lucky Lady was gone. The ladder they used to stabalize the two ships together was gone and the ship was simply that... gone.

The two women made it to the bridge, clearly anxious to find the boys. The Captain noticed that the only crewmen from the Lucky Lady that was left, was the one know as Carter. Carter walked to the Captain with a wad of cash and said, "For your troubles Captain..." He handed it to Del Rio before turning towards Sara and Tara.

Tara's face went ashen. It was about to happen. Sara didn't even have a clue. She was still looking for Mike and Mark. carter said, "You will not find your sons here, seniora. Cuff them..."

Three large men walked towards the two women. Tara didn't put up much of a fight as they slapped steel cuffs on her wrists, however, Sara's fight was significant, cursing and swearing, kicking and spitting... her fight only stopped when Carter put a long thick dagger up to her sister's neck!
