Sarah - OOC:

The posting style I've adopted from Mari lengthens the posts size, for which I apologize. However, by quoting other posts that are happening nearby my character, and interspersing my own responses between quotes - I feel it adds flow to the story's progression. It keeps things moving and holds the time line together.

Just a little message I wanted to send out, so you know why I post the way I do. If you find it distracting let me know, and I will try to define quotes and my character's responses better. Or if you have ideas on how I can do the latter, let me know.

Anti-Rebel, I made an NPC to manage the hotel for Beth. He does the day to day running of the place and he's finally made it out of the office. lol

I'm going to be at a friends this weekend so my posting will be a little sporadic but I'll get on if/when I can. If y'all need to move Beth just a bit (or in this case if DM and Fenix need to get back to the ranch) you can move around her and I'll catch up if needed.

Update and ways forward as Caela will be AFk for the weekend

Irish - length of posts has never concerned me.
Feel free to experiment with writing styles. I myself quote from other's writing, so if this suits you, then please feel free to continue.

Caela ... have a great weekend and thanks for the NPC character.
It helps us populate Grantland without our cast becoming unwieldy!

It was great to wake up after a long night's sleep and see how the story had developped! Thank you all!

I'm hoping that my recent post tied up all the characters and gave us a way forward for the weekend - even though caela might not be around as much.

Sarah and Toby
are returning to Grantland - dialogue between them possible.
Sarah will soon return and be able to interact with daddy and his guest.
Eamon is left to speak with Elizabeth - Caela permitting ( though of course he could avoid too much detailed chat and retire to the hotel so that interaction can be delayed until Caela returns)
Jarrod is currently de-poo-ing himself with NPC Jarrod.
Jarrod and Eamon might meet up ... or not ... but it puts characters together and will allow the storyline to continue.

As we have a good cast of writers, it might be that action moves forward on the ranch at the same time as it does in town.
We just have to make sure that we're both on the same town line before characters from the town and the ranch meet up again to interact.

So far I think we've done well keeping the story flowing and involving everyone.

As ever comments and advice welcome in PM, but perhaps most useful here so we can all contribute.

Thank you all for your wonderful posts!

I have a bit of news, today I'm going to have a small minor surgery done. I expect to be back soon, but my posting might be off until the painkillers wear off.

Take care of yourself!!

We'll still be here when you get back ... I'm sure your character can upset things whenever he makes an appearance...

Just make sure you're fit and well...

Best of luck!

I assumed people had a busy weekend ... you're very quick to assume a thread of 6 people has died!

LOL

I was just busy and out of town this weekend. I'll post when I get home from work tonight! Hope everyong had a great weekend!!!

No rush caela ... we all have real lives ... and you did warn us you'd be afk.

Great posts everyone ... lol caela ... fancy Elizabeth realising Sarah's little pointed comment ... love it! *ggls*

Guess we have events on the ranch and in the town going for the evening ...

We can bring them together again when we reach the following day on the story timeline ...

Great too see everyoune around ...

Mari :rose:

lol...Glad you liked it Mari. I figured that the was attitudes about unmarried women ran in the time period that it would be a common enough insult for her to hear.

Anti-Rebel...sorry for not writing Jarrod. I left him as an NPC so that anyone could move him around as needed.

Just a thought but perhaps we could do something that would bring everyone together so they could meet and mingle. Like a small town barn dance or something.

Ummm ... not likely Sarah would be allowed to that ...

Church social or fundraiser ... something where William is benefactor to the town ...?

Special anniversary ... something William and Sarah could not help but attend ...... orrrrr ... as it's daddy's birthday coming up, perhaps the town are organising some celebration?

Though that wouldn't be immediate.

Ideas anyone?

Mari :rose:

Btw ... whilst Mal is in the horse poo and Eamon is at the hotel we couldn't get people to meet up until the following day anyhow ...

lol...I meant for something later in the week. Not necessarily a dance just something social that a whole small town would be there for. Just a means of letting everyone mix and mingle together...After all Sarah can't just be coming into town every day!

True... the party for Daddy would work.. an excuse for her to be involved...?

Mari :rose:

Not a bad idea...of course what excuse does that give us to get the new people in town involved?

Whole town celebration ... and impressing William will be a way to Sarah ... ?

:rose:

Good idea. If it's a whole town affair we'll need some more NPC's lol. And of course you'll have to decide if Sarah is going to surprise Daddy somewhere in town or on the ranch.

In my most recent post, the strife in Eamon's home town isn't referring to the potato famine of 40 years ago, but some lesser trouble in his home region. There is no factual base for this, I'm just using it as a motivational tool.

I've been looking for the right picture of Toby. But for the longest time I've had a hard time figuring it out. So I just turned to the king of cool, and he showed me the way.

I'm not rushing anyone, but I just want to leave a little note saying that my recent silence is due to waiting for character interaction at the boarding house. I'm still checking the thread multiple times per day.

Mee too ... :) ... always difficult to write with many people ... schedules are problematic ..

Good to know you're still around though...

Sarah would get lonely otherwise ...

What sort of interaction were you looking for Irish? The only one in the lobby is you as Anti-Rebel has moved his chracter up to his room. I left Jarrod as an NPC so that anyone could use him who needed to so if you wish to move your character along feel free to use him as needed.
