Santa Claus

There's an old guy I know that dons the suit every year. Not some cheap Sears catalog thing with the bogus plastic strap-on boot uppers, but a beautifully made one with fur. His hair and beard are professionally groomed, his belt of real leather. The pride he takes in his uniform rivals the Marines I've met.

He makes his rounds every year to homeless shelters and day-care centers. He cares not if you are a Christian, Jew, Black, White or Atheist. Santa Claus is for everyone. The magic he creates when he appears, shakin' those sleigh bells, is as real as the nose on your face.

He politely turns down numerous "professional jobs" offered because they dig his "authenticity." The temptation to grab some ass in a bar would be too much for most (he doesn't mind a lady on his lap, go figure). It would be unthinkable to him to tarnish the good name St. Nick still retains in our commercialized society. This guy is generous all year round, but why does he wear the suit once a year?

He must feel bitter because his parents lied to him as a child.

NOT!

I still believe in Santa & I always will. One of the things that I carry over from my childhood is Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy & monsters in the closets. Too many people complain that kids today grow up so fast, why should they stay kids if they can't have all the fun, fantasy stuff that we had? It has been my experience that the people who take away Santa, Trick or Treating & all of the other magical things that make childhood so wonderful are the ones who bitch about growing up too fast. Duh, get a clue people, being an adult happens fast enough, let's allow our kids to be kids & let them have some fun.

Beautifully said!!!

That was very well said. Every parent in the world needs to be able to write the superb words you wrote!!!
