Rangel is still in office, why?
I think this occasion calls for more posts from Vetteman, Busybody, AJ, and the rest of the usual suspects on the subject of how liberals have no moral compass and will swallow anything from "their own side."
Sexual indiscretions are not considered as bad as they used to be. Clinton did far more tom-catting than Sanford, but he is still a respected spokesman for the Dem. Party.
"Hiking the Appalachian Trail" is now considered to be a joke, rather than some kind of indictment.
How long before Weiner makes a comeback?
Not every long, methinks.
LOL! From Twitter: Man, I bet Elizabeth Colbert-Busch is kicking herself for not cheating on her husband w/taxpayer funds right now.

I actually thought the nookie-on the-taxpayer-dime argument would be a bigger problem for him than the mere cheating. If white South Carolinians could forgive Strom Thurmond a black mistress because he was savvy enough to still regard that mistress as a second-class citizen, there's not much in the sexual realm they won't tolerate as long as that person is in the "white man's party."

But wasting money -- I thought Tea Partiers cared about that sort of thing? Guess party ID trumps all.
It sounded like his NYC mayor trial balloon deflated rather quickly. He has the opposite problem of Elizabeth Colbert Busch--she's surrounded by too few Democrats; he's surrounded by too many.

That was a long time ago, and Thurmond was a young Dem. at the time. In the South at that time, the Dems were "the white man's party." Having an affair with a "member of an inferior race" even knocking her up, was not something that bothered Dems.
Yes, that's why I very deliberately said "white man's party," since that term referred to two different parties at different times of Strom's career.
You have nothing to teach me about American political history, so spare yourself the effort.
Maybe you know everything, but your post was misleading. If people didn't know, they might have thought Thurmond was a life-long Rep. and that the Jim Crow party was the Republicans, although it was actually the Dems.
How about if we just call it "the right wing", for clarity's sake?
Sanford is a louse and I applauded Jenny Sanford for not standing by her cheating man. But since Elizabth colbert Busch is a convicted felon the morality card is hypocritcly played by the left.Sexual indiscretions are not considered as bad as they used to be.
