'Come. Likely, you know where we are since you know so much else. You have a great deal to explain.'

de Blythe smiled, now he had the invitation he sought.

Concentrating on Melaven’s essence he triggered the ability of teleportation he hadn’t used or even needed for well over two centuries. Arriving at the outside of the medical lab he placed his hand on the door and opened it. Big Guy snarled and Isis tensed but there was little they could do.

“I’m Alan Baily” he said as he opened the door. “You’re expecting me.” Looking round de Blythe sensed the opposition from Nikola and the others but he had no need to fear. His hypnotic gaze centred on Helen sending thoughts directly into her psych “You have nothing to fear but you must allow me to be alone with your daughter.” Looking at her he saw the challenge she presented to most men and looked forward to really getting to know her.

Concentrating on Ashley he communicated directly with her essence throwing her body into convulsions as he pushed her vital functions to near zero. “It seems I’ve arrived just in time” and in an almost commanding voice he said “LEAVE!”

Kate

Jumped and started to go for a weapon. Declan moved to a protective stance as well but waited for Helen's words being human made him a little more susceptible to any ability to an extent.

Isis

Straight and only to HEP form snarling moving protectively between Blyth and the others especially Helen and Ashley. Growling she was ready for a fight and any abilities to affect her mind even Tesla and Helen knew it did little more than piss her off more..

When the "command" was uttered by this stranger all it got was a snarled NO!!!!! She did not trust this being and the fact that Ashley seemed to react the way she did at his arrival. Muscles tensed as that protective combative streak began to burn deep down.

Tesla raised a finger as if thinking he might for a second calm her but thought better of his survival and looked to Helen Big Guy and Henry for what to do.

Declan took his cue so far from Isis and stood ready as well not leaving the room yet.

Will
Will just watched this form appear in front of him trying to understand this new being materializing and watching everyone's reaction lunged for the closest weapon as Kate did. Then came back armed and next to Helen. almost trying to protect her out of some kind of chivalrous act. eyeing what the others were doing especially Tesla.


Henry
Henry saw Isis kick into her hep form and thought about trying his on for size. He looked deep within and although he wasn't as smooth and fast as Isis was, eventually there was a towering werewolf at the ready to be unleashed at the stranger when the Doc commanded it. Henry was at a loss at how he got through the shield, he'd have to look into that later. Maybe there was something he had missed. Last he checked the shield was protecting sanctuary at peak efficiency.

Big Guy looked round at his colleagues and reached for a wooden grinder that would make a very efficient club. He was not happy with what was going on but he was even more concerned when he saw the electronic graphs plunge towards zero indicating Ashley's life was shutting down.

Looking at the stranger he stood purposely betrween him and the patient. "I don't know who you are and I care even less. I do care about the Doc and her daughter. Harm either of them and you'll see how much. Do you understand me Doctor Bailey?""

He held de Blythe's gaze demonstrating he would not be a victim of any hypnotic power the stranger might have.

Roger de Blythe

de Blythe didn’t worry about the actions of Isis, Henry or Big Guy. He just calmly said to Helen “I’m sorry I have more important things to do than tickle your pussy cat’s ears or play ‘fetch’ with your doggy. And tell your tame chimpanzee I’m as concerned for Ashley as he is. But I have very little time in to save her so please … I have to be alone.”

Using his psychic powers to tune into her psych he caused Ashley’s body to convulse as he began to close down her vital signs. Taking a deep breath he said with authority “NOW!”

Will
Will couldn't believe this. His body was pumped full of adrenaline and he was itching to get this guy. "Magnus what do we do?"

Henry
At hearing the insult to Isis, Henry growled fiercely at the stranger who dared to taint this place with his presence. His fangs were showing widely and his claws were grazing his own thighs getting ready to pounce.

Isis

Isis snarled... Nor do we have time to indulge the ego of some creature of your stench...

A smirk Isis knew what he was the scent to her was the same nearly as the being in Ashley. To rip another vampire to ribbons would be nothing new to her. She did not know what it was doing but she suspected that whatever this being was it was causing the affects to Ashley. She just did not know how... yet.

Kate

She kept the weapon drawn but moved to the equipment to take a look. She had never seen Henry HEP out like this and having him and Big Guy and the Feline this pissed she was even more on edge and hoped that Magnus could resolve this before one of them flipped out completely or what would happen IF Magnus told them to attack.

Roger de Blythe

Sensing the tension rising de Blythe knew that he was still in control of the situation. Down the centuries he had learned to feed off of other’s anger and the more he could wind up the creatures the more strength and power he had. He sensed the big cat had met vampires before but he was also certain she had never come across any vampire of either his purity or history. Increasing his hold on Ashley he knew he had to tread a fine line between killing her and using her weakness to get Magnus to agree to give him control. He took things one step further when he cut the link between the conjoined spirits of Ashley and Melaven and the body they possessed.

Feeding on the anger already there he added to it by addressing Henry “Down boy, heal!” As he spoke he broke Ashley’s spirit giving him about six minutes to save her life.

Ashley / Melaven

Melaven felt the same painful sensation she experienced when de Blythe killed her in the 16th century. In desperation she cried out in Ashley Mode “Mama … help … let him …!”

With those words she lapsed into death.

Helen at first stood by in shock, at a loss for how to respond. She didn't trust Bailey at all yet he insisted he be alone with her daughter...The moment stretched on for an eternity and the tension between he and her crew escalated to a point of dangerous proportions. But, when Ashley all but flatlined and then cried out for her there wasn't much Helen could do to resist the urge to try, try to keep the peace, try to save her baby one last time...
"Everyone else may go. But I want to stay, Bailey. I will stay, she's my child and this is MY home. I won't give some malignant stranger run of it. Prove you're worthy of trust. Help her, NOW!"

Will looked at Helen and said firmly " I don't think all of us are going to just leave you here with this guy Magnus." He laid his eyes on the stranger.

Henry heard Will and growled in agreement. Something unintelligeble came from his mouth almost an attempt at speech. But a disdain for wanting to leave her alone, unguarded with this guy.

Roger de Blythe
Looking intently at Magnus de Blythe nodded his head “You have a reputation for being a scientist at the top of your field but you are also a mother, a good mother who wants to be alongside her daughter. I accept that, I understand that. And yes you can help me.”

He looked at the rest of the group that was in the room “And I see the loyalty your colleagues are showing …” He pretended to hesitate then said “We have less than four minutes and then nothing in the universe will save her” he pointed to Ashley. “I fear your team will interfere and if they do your daughter will die. Make them leave Doctor Magnus or at least command them to not interfere.”

All this was going to plan because de Blythe wanted everyone there in a state of agitation so he could feed off of their nervous energy. Raising his right arm he pulled a reservoir of cosmic light into the room which blended with the energy to form an invisible shield round Ashley, Magnus and himself.

Next he took a silver tube from his inside pocket and tearing her top open punctured Ashley’s chest just below the sternum. The body jumped in shock and de Blythe saw the look of distress on Magnus’ face. Before Helen could object de Blythe placed his lips round the tube and blew into Ashley’s heart causing her chest to rise. As it deflated he bit into his right wrist, sucked some blood into his mouth and then blew it into Ashley’s heart.

The young girl coughed, opened her eyes and just said “YOU!” She gazed at de Blythe in shock as her vital signs restored before lapsing back into unconsciousness. Withdrawing the tube de Blythe sealed the wound with his fingers and placed the tubing back into his pocket.

Turning to Magnus he said “I’ll be back, we’ve got lots to share” and with his eyes he made it clear he was picturing her naked. The next second he had vanished from her sight leaving a breathing unconscious Ashley on the bed.

Kate

Kate just kept looking from Magnus to this strange guy then to the others. Declan moved quickly over to her then made it look like he was checking the equipment.

Isis

Isis hissed more watching this being her eyes never once losing their predetory and protective glare... blood rage burning behind them at what this being was.

Smells... like little cub did before strange thing in body with her combined... Don't trust him...

She growled in such a way Henry and Big Guy would understand her what she was saying ... a primal animalistic "language". She moved a little more still protectively standing over Helen and Ashley. The desire to slaughter the being that was just there burned deep... something was not right and she would find out from Ashley and the other half of her mind who he was and what should be done about him.

“I’ll be back, we’ve got lots to share” he said, very clearly undressing her with his eyes before he smiled smugly and dissappeared.

At that point everyone in the room jumped into action, checking on Ashley's improving vital signs, Henry and Tesla worrying over possible EM sheild malfunctions, Will and Biggie watching the door, then Helen and Ashley, then the door, Isis and Kate doubling up the security measures...Helen just stood there. What had just happened, whatever it was, had been out of her control, completely so. She didn't like that, not one bit.

She checked on Ashley, relaxing a little as she covered her child with a blanket, eased by the sound of her heartrate and steady breathing...Then, fearing a public display of weakness, Helen moved past everyone, out the door of the lab, and as soon as the door was shut, she sobbed her tension out against the doorframe.

Isis

Isis grabbed a lab smock and and giving Helen a few moments while she shifted to human form again. Moving towards the door she went to follow Helen knowing Ashley had plenty of security.

Helen... She called as she reached to open the door. Waiting for her to answer or move before opening the door.

Kate

Kate was glad things for this moment were over and all the abnormals could calm down at least for now.

Declan wondered if he should take his findings to the council so Magnus could focus on Ashley

will saw helen leave the room and noticed her apprehension. He tried to think of a way to leave big guy and then check on her. But he knew Big Guy would refuse anything he said and MAKE him stay and watch the door.

Henry and tesla ran to the lab and looked over the shield.
"Everything looks fine." Henry said.
"Sure, everything looks fine, we just had someone teleport through the field after you lovebirds all came out of the elevator." Tesla goaded. "But hey, i'd pat you on the back my friend. Later I'll let you in on the secrets to a mature woman's heart over some nice wine. Speaking of...."
Tesla reached for the bottle he grabbed on the way to the lab and started drinking profusely trying to figure out what went wrong.
"Genius at work, please give me some room." As he poured over the data Henry pulled up.

… Fearing a public display of weakness, Helen moved past everyone, out the door of the lab, and as soon as the door was shut, she sobbed her tension out against the door-frame.

As soon as he sensed Magnus was alone de Blythe materialised behind he and placed his hands on her back and using his mental powers held the door firm stopping Isis opening it. “Relax, I’m here to help”. He pulled her round and cushioned her head on his shoulder. “Doctor Magnus you are now on the very edge of your understanding. But together we can not only assist Ashley to embrace immortality I can give her back to you as well”.

Pulling her to him he said “Not only that, I think you will find me a valuable member of your team. I’ll …” He quickly changed the word “We’ll be able to establish a new future for all of us.”

Tilting her face upwards he looked deeply into her eyes inviting her to kiss him.

Helen looked into the eyes of this stranger and momentarily found herself drawn to his power, his seeming to understand that which she was not even gaining a clue about...Then, she recalled he was using this power to manipulate the situation exactly this way.

She pulled back, wiping a tear from her cheek she sneered at him defiantly, "No! You wanted this, I think somehow you orchestrated the whole thing just to get me alone with you, needing your help...What kind of sick person are you, so low in self esteem you have to have someone break down and beg you for aide to get...to get arousal? I will not be played with like some toy, Mister Bailey!" she said, refusing to use his proper title of respect and refusing the trap of false familiarity as well. Her blue eyes shone with fierce lightning, blazing with anger and indignation.

Hissing to Tesla. Did you lock us down in here Genius?

Snarling she was about to shift again as a strange ripple seemed to pass over her unknown to her. She would if she had to rip the door off its hinges.

Kate

Kate noticed the ripple as she was on high alert to any pissed off Abnormals at the moment. She glanced around to see if anyone else noticed it... while she kept quiet and low not wanting to become a target if one of them fully flipped out.

Tesla jumped and took another swig of wine.
"God I love this wine. It brings inspiration. I've narrowed down the scan to isolate his frequency, it's in a band that no other teleporter has ever used. I'm uploading the codes to be loaded into the shield grid to stop this boy from crashing our party again. He shouldn't be able to move after.......there. I'm good. I know, thank you I'll be here all week."
Tesla sat down and smiled.

Henry shook his head at that pompous egomaniac.

Big Guy heard Ashley cry out “YOU!” And he watched the drama unfold. After Bailey had vanished and Helen had left the room to be alone he looked round at the group who had congregated to be of assistance. Turning to Ashley he said “See how many people love you? You’re not going to leave us again. We won’t allow it.”

Something within told him Magnus was in trouble so he moved towards the door trying to open it gently. Not being able to shift it he used his might to smash through it shattering it into fragments.

Seeing Helen confronting Bailey he asked “Is this man bothering you Doctor Magnus?” Not waiting for an answer he reached down and grabbed a sharp stake of wood from what used to be the door. He continued “Because if he is I’m sure this will be very useful!” He waited for Bailey’s response.

With total composure de Blythe just looked at Big Guy and his stake and very calmly and loudly so all could hear said “It seems your pet monkey has sussed me out for what I am. But before he stakes me you should know if I die your precious daughter dies with me. Her life and mine are tied together now. I saved her life but at a cost”. Turning to Big Guy he said “If you want to prove it drive that stake into my heart. If not allow me to talk to the good Doctor.”

As Big Foot lowered the stake de Blythe continued “I know your daughter is wanted for murder, murders committed by her alter ego Melaven. I also know you want to separate them. I can help you, you want Ashley, and I want Melaven. We may have got off to a bad start and I’m sorry, but I can help you if you let me. It’s your call Doctor Magnus.”

He turned to go “I’ll let you think about it, it’s your call.” He hesitated “And …” He laughed “I expected your minions to track my frequency to block my escape. But when you have been alive as long as I have and experimented as often as me you will know how to vary the frequency.”

Taking a deep breath de Blythe smiled and then vanished from Helen’s sight.

Kate

She continued to keep an eye on Ashley she would mention to Magnus the strange ripple in Isis or at least to Henry or Will. Something about it worried her. As well as everything else going on with Ashley and the weird guy that had everyone on edge.

Isis

Isis hissed She was close to fully snapping between her worry for Ashley her protective nature over Helen and now this strange vampire... claws dragging along the concrete sparks flying as she growled looking to Tesla. A quiet possible understanding passing between them as she tried to calm at least for now. Not an easy task in her mental state.

You are right of course Isis... Tesla growled.. ARROGANT BLOOD SUCKING PRICK!
Tesla tilted his head a little and looking to Henry he gestured towards Isis He caught the scent of blood... her blood scent he knew but something was different.

Far too many tasks... Tesla continued... Helen whatever would you do without me My Dear

Helen turned and thanked everyone for their help. "Such a truly awful morning, really." she commented in as calm a tone as possible to tryto insinuate some sense of normalcy into the situation although inside she was still feeling a little more than shaken. She checked Ashley again, kissing her peacefully sleeping daughter's forehead once before shaking her head at the questioning looks of the others. They wanted direction, what to do? But, she had no answers to give just yet. "If you all don't mind I'll be in my study. I have a few things to think about. I'll be taking breakfast there..."she said witha hopeful glance Big's way, "Just tea, maybe toast, nothing complicated and only when you have the time, friend." Helen moved away from the lab once more and then turned as if in after-thought, "Let's have a meeting in my office in two hours." she suggested. She was out of there before they could possibly ask her for more than she could give until she'd had her own moment to regroup. But, just as she'd gotten to her study and begun to relax a bit she heard the sound of footsteps walking around in her adjoining office...Peering through the french doors she saw...HE was back, and this time he did have her alone as he'd been wishing.

Hands on her hips, Helen Magnus made an attractively imposing figure as she eyed the intruder suspiciously from the doorway. "Mister Bailey, my office is off limits without specific invitation from me. What is it you want now?" she asked feeling annoyed.
