Sanctuary city blues: Democrat mayors complain as border crossers are bused to their cities

Democrat mayors in New York City and Washington, DC, are complaining about busloads of border crossers and illegal aliens arriving in their cities even though they have voiced support for illegal immigration in the past.

This week, Mayor Eric Adams seemingly decried busloads of border crossers and illegal aliens arriving in New York City — suggesting the city needs more federal funding to provide for the increase in arrivals from the United States-Mexico border.

Yet Adams has previously backed policies that promote illegal immigration. While running for mayor, he touted his support for keeping New York City a sanctuary city for criminal illegal aliens.

Likewise, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser complained that busloads of border crossers and illegal aliens are overwhelming her city’s shelter system:

Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser, a Democrat, is asking for the D.C. National Guard to be deployed to help the city contend with the influx of migrants arriving in the region, a request that comes after the city's prior request for D.C. National Guard assistance was denied.

"The District of Columbia writes to provide additional information to support our July 19 request to deploy the DC National Guard (DCNG) to help prevent a prolonged humanitarian crisis in our nation's capital resulting from the daily arrival of migrants in need of assistance," Bowser wrote in an August 11 letter to U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

Declare your city a sanctuary city, protect the illegals from government scrutiny and return because they are such good people, but then turn around and the protestation and lament is that a city of millions cannot absorb a handful more, that's the job of the border states. But they will vote agains federal funding to protect the border, because those are hard-working honest people who make us richer as a nation and "those" people who run the southern states are Racists and Xenophobes. They just need to stay in the Republican states to punish their people and legislators.

Next month, pick Delaware, as their reward for voting for Biden. Send them all to Democrat cities. You voted for them, you get to deal with them, and enjoy the experience.

The big challenge is, with 40,000,000 of them, come 2024, we're going to have to start deporting 200,000 every single week to get them all home again in 4 years. That's going to be hard work, but we can probably shift those 87,000 IRS agents to ICE, after all, they're armed and prepared to kill....

Here in RI, Providence is a sanctuary city. Now of course being the biggest city its crime numbers are always going to be a bit higher, but since the sanctuary declaration started its sky rocketed and people are moving out and into neighboring cities. My parents had their house paid off and ended up having to sell and end up with another mortgage because they moved to a more expensive area.

The issue is there's supposed to be a process for a reason. They need to try to the best of their ability to know who they're letting in. Yes, there's a lot of decent people who want to come here for a better life and that's what we're supposed to be all about. But...when you're letting everyone in, you're inviting the criminals and there's a lot of those and like every situation the bad element is going to ruin it for the good.

Other issue is to democrats there are no bad Illegals, or black people, trans people, gay people, or whatever person they're begging for votes from at the moment. So we have to get this dog and pony show that all these people belong here.

The buses were the best idea I've seen in a long time. All good people when they're contained in a couple states, now they're in your state. How do you like it? No different than Omar standing there in Detroit squealing about unacceptable crime...well miss defund the police, who let that happen?

I still want to lobby for an exchange program, for every bus full of illegals coming in, I want to ship out a bus full of entitled ungrateful lazy millennials and progressives. Immigrants love it here, they hate it here so....why not give everyone what they want?

Yes, it's a very easy selection criteria. Look for the most stridently vocal democrats, and drop them off right outside where they live. We just know they'll welcome them in and put them up. And we know where they live, too. AOC, your turn soon....
