...are now a bit confused, as oann even touts him as the man behind new vaccine. Peter Hotez, who has consistently asserted the value and need for vaccinations against covid (frequently appearing as a CNN contributor to discuss why people need to be vaccinated), has received a constant barrage of vile criticism and threats from the trumpalites. Now he's the man behind a patent-free, non-profit vaccine, non-mrna Corbevax being rolled out to get the world vaccinated. Because it's not being patented, it can be manufactured anywhere in the world, and cheaply.

Being non mrna, production/storage are simpler and cheaper. Hotez has NEVER said the mrna vaccines are anything other than hugely successful, highly effective and how lucky Americans are to have access to them while so many in the world don't have that opportunity. Corbevax might now encourage those against mrna (for no good reason) to receive shots and do their part in protecting society, and (of course) oann is pushing the whole NO MRNA! message as the most important. Anything that gets people vaccinated is good.
developed by the Texas Children’s Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine.

It has successfully passed human trials as safe and effective. The new treatment is based off protein-based technology that has been used in other vaccines for decades and it does not use MRNA

“We, about 10 years ago, started making coronavirus vaccines and the irony is that all of our processes are used with that in mind,” explained Professor Peter Hotez, M.D. Baylor College of Medicine. “We build in low cost processes from the beginning because our health economist that we’ve collaborated with have always said if you don’t make it for under a few dollars a dose, you might as well not make it at all. So that’s all we know how to do, is make low cost vaccines.”
