There's an interesting article in Salon.com today about the dangers of posting stories to the newsgroups (alt.sex.stories, etc.). It talks about the fact that some unscrupulous pay site operators take stories from the newsgroups and put them on their sites.
The person who runs ASSTR is quoted, and he, like us, wants to help online erotic authors go after anyone who uses their work without permission. Manu and I both browse around the web making sure that stories posted on Lit don't end up on other sites without the author knowing. In the nearly two years we've been looking, we've never found a story stolen from this site and illegally posted elsewhere. That makes us, and certainly the authors who trust us with their work, very happy.
If we were to find another site stealing copyrighted material (and make no mistake, every story on Literotica is copyrighted by the author), God help them!
