Sailor Moon?

Can anyone help me out with this one?
I got a rather cryptic bit of feedback on my story, Maggie the Gullible today: "Couldn't help but notice the Sailor Moon reference in there, LOL."

I'm glad to know I amused someone, but I have no idea what they were referring to. Whatever Sailor Moon is and whatever reference I made to it, it was entirely coincidental. But now I'm curious: does anyone know what my commenter might have been referring to? Thanks.

I'm a little rusty on my Sailor Moon knowledge, I used to watch the show in the morning before school with my oldest, and she's going to be 30 this year, so that was years ago!

I do still remember the theme song.


Sailor Moon though is a Japanese anime. It's pretty good. There are different sailor scouts, Mars, Venus, Mercury, and so on, with Sailor Moon being the main character.

I can try to read your story and see what they think is a reference but not sure when I will have time to read 5 pages.

I read just the first page, and I can see where the reference could be made as you have five young women wearing uniforms and discussing boys, Sarah talking of how her skirt billows out when she turns--the Sailor Scouts' uniforms would billow as they magically changed from their street clothes to their Sailor uniforms--so yeah, parallels could be drawn. It takes an analytical mind to detect these things, so I applaud the person who pointed it out.

Thanks everyone! That is a heck of a coincidence, all right, as I'd never even heard of Sailor Moon until now. Nothing like having readers find things in my work that I didn't even know were there.
