Hey, I'm looking for a safe sex teacher. I had some questions that I feel dumb for asking since I should know them in today's world. When it comes to STD's, which ones can be transferred through oral sex? Is it just the receiver who is at risk, or is the one being sucked just as at risk? Do condoms during oral sex take away most of the risk. I feel really dumb, that these are obvious questions, but if anyone can give me truthful answers, and/or provide me with a link to a website that might contain more of this type of information, I would appreciate, as would my cock.

Thanks, Mike

P.S.-- Yes I know where babies come from

Hi Mike

From what I understand, almost all, if not all, sexually transmitted infections can be passed on by having unsafe sex. What if the girl who gave you a blowjob had warts in her throat or syphylis? There is a chance of a person passing HIV on six hours after having sex with an infected partner, or using IV Drugs, crack pipes or paraphernalia for snorting. As most STIs often do not have visible symptoms, I would be leery of having unsafe sex at all. Hepatitis C is fast becoming a very real risk, as most people do not know that they have it.

Here is a good site for more info.

Stats from work, I work at a HIV/AIDS Organization in Atlantic Canada. I could ask my boss, I am not sure where she found it.

If they were obvious answers to your questions, you wouldn't need to ask about the would you? ;) Don't worry about it! At least you are man enough to admit you don't have the information you need and you want to learn how to protect yourself. That's the smartest thing anybody could do!

The link BrownEyes gave you is a good one. I'm just more or less here to show my support for you because I think it's awesome you're looking into educating yourself. It's something more people should be doing. :rose: Best regards to you.

Mike Mc you might find these links useful.

http://www.tinynibbles.com/safesexchart.html easy to use chart from sex educator and author Violet Blue. Violet has lots os safer sex articles on her site too, it's worth a browse through.

http://www.cdc.gov/nchstp/dstd/disease_info.htm useful fact sheets

I'm with others, never be afraid to ask questions, especially good questions about something as vital as understanding health risks.
Take care and have fun.
:)
