Safe lube for anal sex?

Anyone know what kind of stuff you should not use for anal sex lube? Currently my girlfriend and I use this lube we got at a sex shop. It works ok, except it's a little sticky. I wanted to try (don't laugh) this Gold Bond Medicated Body Lotion. When you put it on your skin it feels all cold and tingly. I thought that would feel great during sex. The main ingredient is Aloe Vera Gel, and the active ingredients are Dimethicone (5%) and Menthol (0.5%)

Anyone have any idea if it's safe to use the Gold Bond, or have any other suggestions?

I don't know what Dimethicone does, but Menthol is also the active ingredient in Ben-Gay and many other pain relief rubs -- it's the substance theat makes them "warm the skin." It IS NOT something I would use on my genitals!

yikes

Tried and True...

Try Johnson's Baby Oil Gel. It is really smooth and soothing. It has Aloe Vera and Vitamin E in it...

Otherwise...Astroglide. :)

Are you Crazy

the Gold Bond may be safe to jack off with but dont you dare get that near the Lady's Flower of love.
It may be okay for the 1st min. or so, but once the juices start to flow that stuff begin to easy down into her and IT WILL BURN LIKE HELLLL.
Trust me on this one. I put some desensitizing spray on my cock and i did not wait long enough and it Brun my wife very bad. The spray and the G/B are working on the same principle.
keep buying the little bottles of lotion from the Shops untill you find one you both like.

Your very best bet is a silicone based lube specifically made for anal use. They are usually sold at most adult shops. If you can't get that, or don't want to spend far more than it is worth, just stick with KY. It's water soluble so you will need more of it, but it's cheap and it works and it won't stain the bedding.

Do NOT use petroleum based products and certainly NOTHING with menthol in it! If you want to know how it feels, try putting a little bit on your own anus and then see what it feels like. OUCHIE!

Menthol's good for a minty fresh breath, not a minty fresh burning sensation on your woman's winky. Stay with the tried & true KY or Astroglide; they've never failed me yet.:)

hey thanks for the replies.

Saliva, now that's a fun one. I've used to before putting a finger in her ass, but never my dick. We've done it with no lube before, don't ask me how ... but it worked pritty well. I know they say it's not safe but it was a spir of the moment ass fucking.

Big sigh - I must share that it (saliva) worked again for me last night!!

God, I love how you feel the morning after great sex!

:D

Saliva can work fine, yes. In the heat of passion, you sometimes can't find anything better. And you can't beat the application methods! :D Or the price. Both people just have to be in the mood for some friction.

Other than that, I find KY is the best. It stays wet longer than the others, IMO.

One word on the lubes sold as anal lubes. They tend to numb the area. Just remember when you feel pain, it's there for a reason.

I personaly prefer Anal Ease for the numbing effect, but for other lubeing needs I love Eros. It doesn't have that sticky feeling like KY and some other brands. Wet and ID Glide both work well too.
Just for extra fun Anal Ease also comes in different flavors!

Wouldn't the numbing effect decrease the pleasure, as well as the pain? I suppose it wouldn't affect the giver, if he's wearing a condom properly, but the receiver gets a lot out of it, too.

And good point, Woodsycouple, the pain is a warning sign that things need to slow down. You don't remove your smoke detector, even if it annoys you occasionally!

I personaly don't enjoy anal sex at all. I like having the outside touched during sex, but anal sex doesn't feel good for me. I use the numbing stuff so I can give my husband a special treat every once in a while. It doesn't hurt as much as just feel uncomfortable. I have the constant feeling of needing to push and I don't enjoy it. I think it is great that so many women enjoy anal sex; it just isn't for me!

Knock knock!

Saliva

Why stop in the middle of everything to grab lube when your mouth can reovide saliva and your cock can provide pre-cum. The two mixed together are a wonderfull natural lube. Although everyone is correct in that saliva by itself is good too!

Later,

why is vaseline not for internal use ???? Anybody know?

Other than it breaks down condoms? I'm not sure.

For me, I hate the feel - sticky and thick. I love slickery fluids, oily sensations. Vaseline reduces sensation I think.
