Sad news

Very sad news today. Singer Jimmy Buffet has left this world. Everyone has heard his music and have also sang along. He will be truly missed.

. Horrible news. I usually don’t get too wrapped around the axle about stars and their comings and goings and sadly their untimely demise.

Jimmy was different in that I was a fan at an early age, sort of half-assed lived the lifestyle he sang about in my early days, and of course saw him in concert.

When I was in HS we would get the Chicago WGN station that carried Cub games. I’d watch when coming home from school as Wrigley Field didn’t have lights, so all home games were in the afternoon. I became a Cub fan. Later in the 80’s they made the pennant race and Jimmy sang the National Anthem for the opening game in Wrigley.

To this day, it’s one of the best National Anthems I’ve ever heard!
