No matter which side of the issue you're on, you hear things like this and all you can is hang your head and sigh...................

The target of this particular piece is one sided, but we all know that there's plenty of these types on both sides.

Mreh. I don't think the race is the issue there. I think you could easily have said "Republican" and "Democrat," in pretty much any race, and had the same reaction. It's a team sport.

Of all places, someone on the GB summed it up nicely. "If there was a riot between supporters of both sides and seven people were killed, the first question everyone would ask was whose side had killed more."

I think this is true. I see many blindly supporting one over the other without even knowing where they each stand on positions that are important to them. As a friend used to say...

My mind's made up. Don't confuse me with the facts!

An old favorite of my father's, when he was in the mood to see the humor in it. When he's dead serious and unshifting, it turns into "Well, I just think that ..." <insert claim he's just been unable to support in any way>.

I keep my sense of humor through a little mental game which I call, "Well, I just think that repetition of an unsupported assertion is logically unassailable."

Might I use that one in the future? Giving you full credit of course?

*laugh* Absolutely. My father might deserve some of the credit, though. He didn't come up with the title (being unaware of the game, which takes place inside my head), but he certainly is into the spirit of the thing.

I saw this kind of thing during the primaries when I talked to a guy I used to work with about Obama vs. Clinton. He said he didn't want Hillary in office because "she might get on the rag one day and decide 'Fuck it!' and launch the nukes."

I heard a woman on a call-in radio show say she wasn't going to vote for McCain because the surname means Son of Cain and, well... Cain was evil. It's not only the right who has idiots supporting them it seems. :)

Freaks me out when I hear people say any of the following:

Ain't no way I will EVER vote for a black man!

No way I will EVER vote for a ticket with a woman!

No way would I vote for McCain, the old geezer is as good as dead and will never live out a term - or some variation.

I'm voting for Obama because I want to be part of history and to see a black man elected President.

No mention of policies or issues. Most people cannot even articulate what their candidate stands for on any number of issues.
