Hi everyone. I think it's time for a simple exercise that we can use to hone our vocabulary.

The main rules I'd like everyone to stick to would be
  1. to use the thesaurus that's in your head and not Roget's.
  2. although the folks at Oxford and the lexicographer Webster are brilliant at this, don't use their dictionaries.

The way this will work:

Someone will list a word with a definition of ONE meaning in their own words and they'll use it in a sentence.
(edited to modify the rules :eek: )
The next contributor will create a comparison sentence.
The word used in simile to the original will become the next in line.

We'll continue on until that's exhausted and/or when the majority of players think a new original word is needed.

First word

Ample: To be of adequate proportions

Mrs. McGillavry's ample, C cup breasts were more than sufficient on her short, little body.

AMPLE = plenty

There are ample frozen chickens in the freezer for the party.

I am a bit confused here. Simile means "a figure of speech comparing two unlike things that is often introduced by like or as (as in cheeks like roses)." It's another way of envisioning a word. So the definition is roughly the same as the original, if perhaps more colorful. Something like
Lily, Mrs. McGillavry's younger sister, had a figure like an hourglass whose sands would easily time a three minute egg.
Am I missing something?

Wus gonna ask the same thing.

metaphor = She's a wolf.
similie = She's like a wolf.

Ya mean synonym?

ample=enough

There is an ample supply of dildos under my bed.

I can't believe you messed up. I think this is the first time. You messed up. :D
Okay, tits.
She had tits like a nursing monkey.
(My kid drew a pic of me last night and gave me long, pointed boobs. I asked her about it, and she said she gave me monkey boobs. No more animal planet channel!)

monkey tits? <biggrin

chickens have breasts but no tits...

male chickens (roosters) have breasts too?

and that's not as rare as hen's teeth or stranger than socks on a chicken.

I am confused. I like boobie games but this one, I am not sure how to play! Is anyone willing to tutor me?
