President Putin has helped guide Russia out of the terrible economic shambles it was in by the late 1990s. His policies border on economic brilliance.

Should the US swallow its pride and learn from the great policies that President Putin has implemented in Russia?

Such as? Please be specific.

I'm guessing your sudden hard-on for Russia is mostly due to their abuse and torture of homosexuals.

and he hates queers! He's leading the one true nation down the just, right and godly path.

Ask any conservative, it's all part of a grand progressive liberal agenda aimed at destroying the western way of life.

Really? I was unaware that conservatives so closely tied economic matters to social matters. That particular inability to compartmentalize has traditionally been a fault of the liberal mind.

Good lord? Are you that determined to give LT a run for his money?

You need to do three threads a day with examples of how conservatives are obsessed with homosexuality...,

Lord knows you have enough posts laying about to do it.

Russia's economic model is no secret, nor is it anything particularly new. Russia's economic boom is based almost entirely on extractive commodities, oil, natural gas, coal, wood, and metals. As of this point in time manufacturing plays a relatively small role in their economy.

More to the OP's question, "Should the US follow Russia's model?" To an extent that answer is yes. Particularly in regards to energy policy.

Obama is jiggy with the political model...

:D ;) ;) Maybe he can be Secretary of State for a few years while Valerie Jarret runs the Clinton Administration.

(And we can celebrate the Hillary-Huma wedding and raise our conservative glasses in toast with Progressive kbate! )

Have you failed to read the conservative pundits here on Lit? Each and every unconservative action, and especially those related to homosexuals are direct affronts to all that is just and right. I am repeatedly confronted with the "liberal agenda" as a living breathing entity, bent on conquest of all that is holy. It appears if you mention the environment, if you mention debt, if you mention homosexuals, if you mention civil rights and if you mention or dislike of war. Each is simply one more manifestation of the Liberal Agenda - which apparently each and every non-classic-liberal (statist for you lay folk) is trying to implement.

You need to keep up with the rothbards and humboldts and Mises, they have successfully associated all things not-conservative with the Grand Progressive (much like the great pumpkin - but red instead of orange).

Will never happen in America

It's all 'land of the free bla bla bla'

Yet can't afford a fucking inhaler

And that has what to do with any economic model?

Ishmael

Any good conservative will tell you that anti-homosexual policy lubricates the engine of economic growth.

Malaysia? Uganda? All emerging superpowers.

Meanwhile, here in Murica, the economy has stagnated due to the recent legalization/non-criminalization of gay marriage.

You could, as they say, look it up.
