Hispanics are 7% of the US population, Evangelicals are 28% of the population: WHY IS THE GOP SO HOT TO APPEASE HISPANICS AND SO INDIFFERENT TO EVANGELICALS? ISNT IT SUICIDE TO HELP THE DEMOCRATS AND PISS-OFF YOUR BASE?

Rush as usual has his facts wrong, the Hispanic population is more like 17%

I think Rush may be referring to the percentage of illegal aliens in the U.S. some 12 to 15 million, but 70% of Hispanics do vote Democrat, so why do we want to support adding another 12 million or so Democrat voters.

Because you're supposed to want to help America more than your party.

Whatever it is is less than 28%.

Anytime the GOP climbs in bed with Democrats bet the farm that there's a live boy or a dead girl in the bed with them.

The GOP just tried the strategy of ignoring minorities and it failed miserably. In 2016 minorities will be even more of a factor and you think Rush's idea of repeating that failed strategy is a good move?

Actually Rush was referring to the percentage of the electorate:

RUSH: I understand. I have some questions for you about that, but the politics of this still fascinate me. If you look at the 2010 election or 2012 election results. The percentage of the electorate that was Hispanic was 7%, and we got 27 or 28% of that vote. The evangelical vote was about 28% of the electorate, and we got 78% of that.

Rubio was no great shakes when he ran the Florida House, lotsa corruption on his watch (in fairness Charlie Crist was governor, and his pals were the corrupted...but Rubio looked the other way). Rubio has no accomplishments or legacy as a pol.

According to Fox News' 2012 exit poll, Hispanics made up 10% of the electorate and Evangelicals were 26%. In 2008 they made up 9% and in 2004 they were 8%.

I believe this:

If I ran for President promising to unleash American genius for economic marvels, secure the nation from the barbarians at the gates, make the military the wrath of God, and hang a battalion of Harvard Brainiacs from street lights, I'd prolly be elected.

Only in the Republican primary though.

I guess you wanted a lot of hate and bad drug jokes...

Do I have to be one to point out that Hispanics consistently identify as one of the single more religious voting blocks?

17%... This Rush guy must seriously do absolutely no research or you heard him wrong.

But here's a handy visual aid.

And here's the census information from last year on religion. Strangely, I don't see "evangelical" on here anywhere...

So where did that information even come from?

I'm gonna guess they fall somewhere in that "other" category. So less then 3%.

And there, using math, is the answer to the question of whether their are more Hispanics then Evangelicals.

Didn't Romney do everything you just listed though?

No. Romney's all about looking out for the elites, his agenda was transparent.

What America years for is opportunity, protection from the niggaz, and for dragging the Chelsea Clintons from the front of every goddamned line.

Candi, in your rush to make Rush look stupid, you just fell into the same trap as the other libs...

Show us the voting breakdown.

Show us the stats on the actual voters that Rush was talking about.

*groan*

Boy, you were on a mission to blow up Rush only your vest went off prematurely...
