Hi all! Hope your day is swell. Manu and I took the afternoon off and saw Rush Hour 2, then grabbed grub at La Salsa.

Rush Hour 2 was unfunny, lacked good fight scenes, and had a plot that made no sense whatsoever. Popcorn, two drinks, and some Red Vines cost $11.00.

My La Salsa shrimp tacos, on the other hand, were perfectly seasoned, and my soda was cold.

Anyone else seen Rush Hour 2? What did you think? How was your lunch?

My Script For Rush Hour III

(Camera Pans to Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker standing in the center of a large, deserted warehouse. Jackie winds up and punches Chris in the face. Again. Again. And again. For the next 2 and a half hours. Repeatedly)

The End

Bear in mind this is only a first draft......

Hey Babe.

Got my 12 year old here in NYC. Promised him this flick - new stadium seating in Times Square. Expected as much even though I liked the first one. Oh well. Wish me luck. Hope I don't fall asleep. Too bad. I find most comedies now days blow. Bubble Boy? This take off on It's A Mx4 World? This Bob and whoever? And un-fucking believable? This is the single greatest comedic film gross of all time?????

I mean - what the fuck?

I think you've got a winner there, R. The warehouse is a nice touch.

I know...it's been a long time since I've seen a really good new comedy.

And I think Jackie Chan's getting too old to do that stuff anymore. Hate to say it, but watching him fight isn't the same anymore. The grace is gone. When he falls, you cringe because you're afraid he's pop a hip or something.

You should rent The Legend of Drunken Master for him. That's Jackie in his prime. Great movie!

I will try it thanks but, but, but.....

Still have a hard time getting beyond......

the Producers,

Cat Balou,

And Animal House.....

And the Monty Python Movies.

Nothing seems to come close.

Why can't folks like me get their comedic fix?

The 1960's?

Jackie Chan movies are good when he's not trying to be a comedian. He's an action star with some comic ability, but not enough to carry a film. But he's amazingly quick & agile, and the choreography for his fight scenes is wild.

Have you seen "The House of Yes"? It's the only semi-recent funny film I can remember right now...and it's pretty dark.

The "Naked Gun" movies are the best. I don't care what anyone says.

I saw Rush Hour 2 also, the first one was much funnier.
But it had a few moments (most of which were shown in previews), I don't think my night was wasted by seeing it, but I wouldn't pay to see it again (I love Jackie Chan though).

I think Rush Hour 2 didn't seem as bad because right after I saw it, I saw Scary Movie 2. It was one of the worst movies I've ever seen. For a comedy it was lacking in funny parts (one or two made me smile, I'm not sure it they were supposed to be funny though). By comparision Rush Hour was a materpiece!
Of course I didn't like the first one that much (Scary Movie) but at least it made me laugh!

Shrek was funny..
I never saw the first Rush Hour, why would I watch the second?

I had a ham and cheese sandwich... with pickle!
