So. Trump is done, whether he realize it or not. Now what?

Will Democrats still show up en masse at the polls in Georgia and in future extra elections now that the bogeyman is defeated?

Will the Trump cultalition show up when Dear Leader is not on the ballot?

I don't fecken know. The dynamics are weirder than usual.

Armchair poli-analysts, do your worst.

If you look at 2018, Dems did much bette when Trump was not on the ticket. So, I will go with many of the cult members staying home.

Yeah but that was, at least to a significant part, an anti Trump wave.

Now that anti Trump fuel has to be replaced with anti... Mitch?

Maybe, or some people only show up to vote for Trump.

Another observation is of local weekly protests or flag wavers. The Democrats have signs for the entire ticket some candidates even show up. The Trumpers only had Trump flags, not even a yard sign for down ticket candidates. I think that says something.

It’s an anti-issues thing for the folks I know. They believe BLM and they believe in LGBTQA+ equality, they believe in science.

The positive for the Democrats re Georgia is what Aglaopheme said: Trump isn't there to spur turnout.

But there are more positives for the Republicans:

1. They had a higher cumulative vote in the Warnock/Loeffler race.
2. The other race was closer, but it was the Libertarian candidate who kept Perdue under 50 percent, and those voters, when given an option, usually vote GOP.
3. Runoffs are for all intents and purposes offyear elections, and it's the people mad about the current president (i.e. Biden) who are typically more motivated to get out and vote.

Loeffler and Perdue both had their corruption put on display earlier this year, so the fact that either one could be remotely competitive after that isn't a good sign either. The Democrats would do well to pick up one of the seats.

Georgia Democrats are very well organized and can likely identify who did not turn out to vote in the largely black counties in and around Atlanta. It shouldn’t take much to convince them that control of the Senate is in their interest.

Naturally hoping that both seats flip, mostly to remove any excuse for inaction on the platform. Blue Dogs like to stall.

I expect overall turnout to be lower, but there is a strong motivation for both party's voters to go to the polls. Control of the Senate is a big deal and completely in their hands.

While it's difficult to predict how turnout will go for both sides, there is a lot of positive momentum for the democrats, and a significant machine in place to get the vote out.

I predict Biden making at least a few appearances around the metro areas. Will Trump do the same for the republican candidates?

Yes. Stacey Abrams and LaTosha Brown have proven they know how to turn out and register voters. Biden is going to win the state, so there is that.

Biden and Harris. That is my question, will Trump stump?

I think Trump would, but not in the usual sense. Trump would, to feed his insatiable ego's appetite for adulation, hold rallies to promote candidates. But we all know Trump would just use the platform to whine about his so called slights he has incurred in his poor life....

Related to what I said above, there's apparently some evidence showing that as Biden came to be seen as a heavy favorite in the election, the positions of some of the Democratic Senate candidates began to diminish. It's very hard to explain the results in Maine, where Susan Collins won without a lot of trouble even though no poll ever showed her in the lead, in any other way.

I don't believe most voters like divided government, but I think there's a small percentage of independent voters who do, and they can make a difference on the margins.

Anyway, that's not good for Ossoff/Warnock either. If I were them, I'd campaign on the corruption of the opposition and the clear fact that the survival of the ACA depends on Biden having 50 Senate votes.

Trump stump when it's the Senate and not him at stake? I doubt it. But I think enough others will understand what's at stake in the Georgia senatorial elections that we'll see an all-out drive to keep voters engaged. It might depend on how well the Republicans can get across to their voters how important holding the Senate majority is. I think the Democratic voters understand how important it is to get control of the Senate.

Trump? He won't care. Why should he? It's no longer about him. He can help (the Democrats) by continuing to be Trump through the runoff.

Will anyone be visiting Herman Cain’s grave in Atlanta?

Would love to make that evil Turtle a MINORITY leader. That's the next plan.

His obese redneck constituents in KentuckHICKy wanted him, I wish we could ship them all out to another country.
