How can people pull up threads from a user from 3-4 years ago? I've tried under the search feature, going to advanced, typing the persons name in, then to view threads a year and older, but it'll only give me like a year in a half when they've been here longer.

Under my options, I have it set to view all threads. Am I doing something wrong?

I've seen others go back years, but I don't think I'm doing it correctly.

I'm a fast learner, but this I cannot figure out. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I also forgot to add that I went to user profile to view all threads, but it doesn't go back as far as the time period I'm looking for when I know the user made threads.

Use a real search engine

The search engine here is pretty brain-dead. I use google for everything. It seems to be more thorough. For example I typed in

"site:forum.literotica.com rthnck" and voila I got 90 hits and I officially have 89 posts so that's pretty much on the money.

Try it and see if you get better results....

Thanks, but I that's another one I forgot to mention. I already did that.

There were some results that showed up, but not all. It was basically the same as going to the user profile.

Subscribe to the threads you want to keep track of. That way you can identify them more easily (they will show a checkmark) plus you can view a list of threads you have a subscription to.

If you know you have posted in the thread you look for (or someone else did, and you remember their name) you can go to your (or their) profile and perform a search through all posts by. If you know who started the thread, go to that profile and look up the list of threads started by....

If it's a How To or Café thread you have a good chance of finding the thread categorized in The Blank Manual somewhere.

I know what you're saying, but I can't subscribe to threads that have come and gone on the general board, and haven't been posted in in 3-4 years.

Some posters have contacted me that seem really nice but they're being hammered on the general board, and before I respond to any pm, I'd like to know some history.

If you can think of anything else, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Your problem is that vBulletin's search engine is limited to 100 results. You need to start eliminting some results to get further back than "the first hundred threads older than one year old."

To do that, you can add a keyword to narrow down threads to a single topic, ask for threads with more (or less than) than ten, (twenty, thirty, etc) replies, or use any other field in the advanced search form to reduce the number of matching posts/threads.

I will try that. Thank you!

You could try Here
Put the name you want in the search box, select Adult in the categories box, I also turned off the safe filter. Once the results are in you can refine the search by clicking on the users name where it says "By: user", that should bring up some maybe all threads started by that user.

I did a test search on a gber who fits the limited profile you suggested ie:someone who seems nice in PM but gets canned on the board, generally there is good reason for the canning so take care.

Thanks.

I saw the site while doing my google search. I've been playing around a bit.

I'll take the rest of your post as a warning.
