From a technical standpoint, it could be considered a "real" sport, because there is a lot of physical exertion (sp?) and...pain...involved. Perhaps we could even get it made into an olympic competition? I always wanted a nice gold medal to call my own...

If you're running backwards through a cornfield naked I would think it would be pretty painful regardless, unless you're into that sorta thing I guess....
