At this point I'm becoming a little curious. The first rule on the stickied "welcome" thread forbids spamming and promotion of third-party sites. However, there does seem to be quite a lot of that going on today.

I am but a humble n00blet, so I have to ask - is there a point at which the rule kicks in? Is it up to us to contact an admin, and if so, how?

I think admin has been contacted. I know I flagged a few posts and I doubt I'm the only one. However, I think we only have one mod at the moment, and she might not have been online for the duration of this nonsense.

If you have concerns about a thread being spam, there is a little triangle with an "!" at the bottom left corner of each post - under the user nic/avatar, next to the button that says the user is online or not. Spam and/or inappropriate content can be reported via that triangle button. However, forum moderators are volunteers, and it make take a bit of time for things to be deleted or dealt with.

Thanks for the responses everyone! I learned a thing or three.

I know how it is to rely on volunteer admins, and I really respect the work those folks do. I'll flag a few threads and wait patiently.

You might also find the ignore function helpful; if you have somebody on ignore it'll conceal all the threads they've started, as well as their individual posts within other threads.

OOooo, ignore button! Extremely useful! And already filled out, too. Thank you so much! A certain transphobic troll will be joining our spammer there very shortly.

You can also access it by clicking on a poster's username next to their post, in the drop-down menu. Makes this place far more enjoyable :)
