I lost one brother to that nasty stuff (alcoholism) I'll be damned if I lose another one. We have never been as close as we are now.

I can't support him financially.. but I can support him emotionaly..

This isn't a forced thing.. he is 37 years old.. hasn't seen his children in over 5 years.. and woke up about 2 weeks ago realizing he has nothing in life...he has decided to change that. I hate him for some of the stuff he has put me through... but I love him for trying to get his life straight.

Freaky, you seem to be on the right track with your support of him. He's willing to help himself......that's a good start. The emotional support is what he needs most. Maybe it will be a healing experience for you as well (for the things he put you through) Best wishes sweetie.
